Call me old-fashioned but I really don't see the appeal of watching someone else play a video game from my phone.

Agreed. I would only use spectator mode on my console to look at a Madden/NCAA/NBA 2K league game. It would most likely have to be a playoff game at that. Lol.

I think it could come in handy for some things.

        - Live video tutorials without an external host site (Justin.TV, Ustream, etc.)
        - Sports league games
        - Clan Battles/Competition for some shooters.

Generally speaking, I would hardly ever have the need and I don't think this sort of feature would be a deal breaker for anyone, but it would be a nice gesture and something people have been asking for, for years.

I think watching streams on your smart phone will be like having a tablet two years ago.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'd like to wait at least a year from launch before I make the plunge, but if they can showcase a mind-blowing IP, I might bite sooner.

I kind of hope that one of these new consoles really jumps out as being significantly better than the other.
I really don't care which one does, all I know is, I don't want to buy both again, haha.

Right now, with the PS4 allowing for used games and possibly being b/c, I'm leaning towards the PS4.

But chances are, both will be solid consoles that have a handful of exclusive titles that will force some to buy both.

Depending on what the Xbox720 has to offer, Ill probably end up getting both. I will purchase the PS4 for myself and have my fiance buy me the 720 for Christmas, if I really want it. If the 720 does not really intrigue me, then Ill have my fiance buy me a Vita for Christmas.

Signup for the PS4 release announcement on Amazon! Does this mean they will be accepting pre-orders?

So I ran across a random image of the DS4 and was curious, I don't think we've yet to see someone try to compare it to a DS3, or at least I haven't seen it, so I took a look. The only component they seemed to share is the PS button, they lined up perfect, so I based it off that.

BTW, the image size is actual size on my 23" 1080p monitor.

Beautiful, I love that the new controller is bigger! The PS3 was to small, light, and the thumb sticks were too flimsy.

                        Awesome, if accurate.

Now to hope for native PC support (and PC developer support to boot).

Had an idea, the one thing the controllers have that we know the size of is the USB connectors, even if they use different connectors they are a standard known size. Looks to me like the previous image was spot on.

It may be the screen but that controller looks massive compared to the DS3. I like it. Looks like a tank!

One thing I LOVED about the 360 controller compared to the DS3, the 360 is HARD to break while the ps3 is delicate. Hopefully this means the DS4 is diesel.

I'm going to have to be extra careful with future controllers.

I never throw or intentionally damage my PS3 or 360 controllers, but I do have a bad habit of knocking them off the bed from time to time.
