Authentic, dude why have you not been playing TW14 in our country club?
Authentic, are you not even a little intrigued with what they presented on the X1?
1. I will start here in a little bit. I've been super busy.
2. To be honest, no. I think a separate piece of hardware could've been attached, such as a standard DVR of some sort or something like that. I know their focus was for the box to be the central and only box in the room, but that will never be the case. The only thing that was cool was the fantasy sports part. I do think that is a cool feature, but it's something I can live without. They didn't show any games that wowed me like Killzone did, like the PS4 reveal did. I just wasn't wowed by anything. I wanted to be excited and like it, but it never kicked in.
MS has slightly slower system RAM (3 vs 5) but the Xbox has 32 megs of dedicated "cache" more or less that PS4 does not have.
It will probably be slower, but not much.
You should wait till they run the
machines to push out hard numbers before making sweeping generalizations.
That's ram, has nothing to do with the 50% better GPU compute. We know this for a fact, we know how many compute units both GPUs have as a matter of fact. PS4 GPU has a 50% bump on the Xbone.
PS4 ram has a 33% bump on the Xbone ram, but that cache is a wild card so who knows what difference that will make in the real world. Can't imagine it would negate the speed limitations of DDR3 or else someone would have started putting it on, at the very least, budget cards, but we really don't know at this point. That doesn't, however, change the fact the PS4 GPU is 50% faster.
Ehh, I think I have my percentages backwards, but whatever. Point stands.
I only have one friend that is defending the X1 to death. He keeps saying, "I'll have to wait for E3." When right after the PS4 reveal he said, "I'll have to wait for the Xbox reveal." Next it'll be he'll have to wait for the launch and so on. There will always be people that just can't leave a product because of it's name, Samsung people are always tough, and Apple people...
Just throwing this out there, but why is this brand loyalty as opposed to having all the information and then making an informed decision?
Not sure why there is this idea one needs to declare they want one or the other when you won't really have a firm idea of the launch offerings until the fall.

It's basically denial. A lot of people will try convince themselves that the system will be good. That's what my friend is doing and it's apparent.

Also, a lot of people are confused about DDR5. People are saying the latency is a lot worse when the facts point to DDR5 not being used properly. Microsoft put the extra cache in as a basic operating system bank. Intel has been using this cache system since the 90s, not to this extent but it's been there. It hasn't worked well for Intel so they just started to use their extra cache as backup RAM in a sense. So, this basically means that MSFT's genius idea to counter Sony's DDR5 was pointless, from years of Intel trying and failing. If you guys really want to read why the X1 is on it's downfall spec wise and system wise, head over to CNET.
How can any of us be 100% sure either system will be good though.
I'm sure both will do what we expect and neither will fail at being a gaming machine first and foremost.
My main thing is they will hopefully have no major issues this go round. Main problem with being an early adoptor.
I'm not saying anyone on here is in denial, I should've posted that. He's one of those people who won't even consider the PS4. He's always pushing back his dates hoping MSFT will say something good. He's the only one in the store that is going MSFT at this point...

It's not "wait until we find out everything about both systems, then we'll find out which is better" it's "just wait, Xbone will be better". If that's not blind brand loyalty I'm not sure what is.
It's kind of like the guys who tried to fake leaks, by their accounts the Xbone would have dual GPUs, 16GB of ram, and a 360 SOC. The only reason guys would bother doing that, is they didn't want their brand looking bad in the leaks. Only reason.

yeah not even cosidering a system is a bit much. Then again I'm assuming some aren't total nerds like most of us either lol
I couldn't sleep knowing a new system was out and I didn't have it.
it's a curse.

This. For the most part, the specifications are out now. We know what each system has. For the most part, developers and analysts are able to guess which system has more raw power. I haven't seen anyone say the X1 is going to be the more powerful system. As a former Computer Science major, I can say that the PS4 has enormous potential, but the DDR5/DDR3 gap could create some issues when porting a game over either way...
