I believe $599. I'm thinking this one we will see $499, I'm hoping for a $399 price tag but that is a huge stretch

Yeah, my guess would be $449-$499, could see the extra RAM pushing it higher though. Really preparing for both consoles to be $599 and will just be happy they come in lower if they do.

            NeoGAF's napkin math: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=514688

So a couple of us at the bank have done a costing analysis this morning. I won't be able to give exact figures, as if we ever decide to release them publicly it will definitely blow my cover.

            All figures in USD.

            APU (CPU/GPU) - 85-90
            8GB GDDR5 - 110-140
OS Chip (supposedly ARM based) - 12-18
            Video encode/decode chip - 8-12
            Blu-ray drive - 18-25
            Hard drive - 38-50
            I/O - 9-12
            Wireless chip + antenna - 4
            HDMI+HDCP - 11-15
            Other - 25-35

            Total - 320-401

            Accessories:

            DS4 - 18-30
            PS4 Eye -$12-20
            Mono headset - 3
            Cabling/misc - 3

            Unknown/Alpha:

            Internal PSU - 25-55
            Cooling - 20-38
Assembly - 13 (Based on being made in China, for made in Japan, make that ~ $45)

Total estimated system cost (no shipping and packaging) - $450-490

These figures are preliminary, and do not include assembly costs, power costs, cooling or shipping as the final design has not been shown and can't be estimated at this time.

Please, please, please remember that this is based on the specification only and cost prices that we know, without a PS4 in the hand there will be mistakes.

Well if those numbers hold true then I would expect a $399 price tag. The PS3 was report to cost $900 to produce and sold at $600. So just going by past numbers then if the production value is lower then the price point should be couple hundred lower also.

at launch the 60gb was $599 and the 20gb was $499.

im praying the ps4 will be $399 cuz in that case i may purchase it soon after launch. if im betting though, my guess would be a $449 launch price.

now back to remote play. so let me get this straight, when you stream your ps4 game to the Vita will you be able to play it away from home or will you only be able to use it near your ps4?

yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

$399 with the ability to plug in a external hard drive in future means I'd go small HD from launch and just get a TB external to add on.

You can play virtually anywhere. Well, anywhere you have WiFi connection for your Vita.

I'm assuming the PS4 remote play will be similar to the cross-controller remote play connection, which is pretty much latency free. Traditional remote play was hit or miss when it came to lag.

If this is the case then It'll be Game Over for vita carts. I like my (that is LOVE my) vita games but if I can game my PS4 games, latency free, from a hotel room or lobby, I won't need to buy another Vita game again.
