I really hope this is the case. It would be great to not have to take those tiny carts with me when I travel.

Assuming you have solid WiFi everywhere you go...I'd probably bring one or two carts with me just to be safe! Even phones that give wifi access can have batteries go low.

Do they let you play games without the disc in the system? I know it'd work for downloaded games (because those have DRM), but you may have to have someone swap out discs for you at home if you wanted to play something else.

Not sure, just wondering how it works...how can they let you play without the disc without DRM? Otherwise I'll rent games, install them, turn then back in, but still have access to the game.

Pretty cool if they let you do that lol.

Maybe you can download your purchased games (ie discs) to your hard drive and access them that way ??

Yeah didn't think of that. Duh. Wish they had a multi disk loader ala my 300 disk cd player. Gonna take strategic planning on my part to choose which game I leave in there when we go on vacations.

But then you could just keep games you rent, they can't allow that. Unless they have DRM that tracks the installs on the system similar to Xbox One. Though everyone says Sony won't do that.

In an interview with Pachter, which will be published later this week, Pachter estimates that consumers can expect to pay around $399 for the Xbox One and about $349 for the PS4. "The boxes will both sell out at the above prices," he said, when asked which he believes will have the more successful launch. And given the pre-order records being set by the Xbox One, I tend to believe him.

Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Remote Play isn't really available anywhere, it just hasn't really materialized for the PS3.

For the PS4, it has dedicated video compression hardware, so all your internet has to do is stream a 960x544 video and it should work anywhere. Of course, you will have some input lag, so the experience might not be optimal for every game, but there's no reason why it can't be done.

This is the grain of salt officially endorsed for consumption with anything Pachter says:

Yeah, he sometimes knows stuff but isn't always right.

I'd be all for those prices though. I'd consider getting both, Xbone for living room and PS4 for bedroom tv...

                          We'll see though.

Yeah, that's why I thought it would have been done remotely at this point, but the answer is yes anyways: http://manuals.playstation.net/docum...ainternet.html

I'm noting this latest prediction for my Pachter Tracker™.

                              Here's his most recent fail:

"The next-generation consoles present only a modest improvement in graphics quality over current generation consoles, suggesting to us that many gamers will be slower to adopt the new technology immediately," said Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities.
Yet the XBox One is setting pre-order records...

There are at least a dozen posters on OS that are more knowledgeable and trustworthy than Pachter, IMO.
