What is the difference between a "launch" PS4 and regular PS4? I saw members talking about it with regards to their amazon preorders. Is it something similar to what the XBOX ONE is doing?

With regards to the discussion about trade-ins at Best Buy....

I've read onine that you can also purchase amazon gift cards at gamestop. Can anyone confirm this?

traded in my cracked iPhone and was only going to get $100 for it but after all my deals I had towards the trade, it was over 260$ in trade in. All towards ps4 battlefield, next gen madden and controller. First system i will be getting on launch since my dream cast

Same here. This is the first system I had will have launch day, since the Dreamcast.

Yea see I'm only basing off what I see online for their trade values, and I'm not a rewards member. But seeing as NHL 13 is worth $6 at BestBuy with their current promo, and $27 at GS; that's quite a difference.

Again Tiger 14' at BB is only worth $11. GS isn't showing what it's worth but I'm willing to bet mid $20's. And those prices are with the current +100% if I'm reading right.

I should check out the rewards zone though.

The trade in bonus is in store only, so you get double what the website says, so you would get $12 for NHL and $22 for Tiger Woods. Their gamers club is pretty good if you preorder a lot of games, most major new releases have a $20 gift card when you preorder.

For those folks living in Europe... Will it have the same price(400€) even with shipment(+shipping to Croatia...yes we're in EU)? I really wanna buy it but if it's gonna be more expensive I don't have money for that version of PS4.

To the guys who were able to pre-order from amazon without sales tax, lucky you. I was ready to do the same thing, until I remembered that Amazon started charging tax to CA residents, last year.

So to guarantee myself a launch system, I pre-ordered from Gamestop and put some money toward ps4 versions of NBA 2k14 & Battlefield 4.

For those planning on trading games in toward your new console, Best Buy has a 100% bonus trade in credit for games until Saturday. Even if you preordered on Amazon, Best Buy sells Amazon gift cards, so you can use the store credit they give you for the games on those to put toward your Amazon preorder.

My best bet is to turn in games that I already have downloaded on my PS3, such as Uncharted 3 (which I just downloaded for free). That might be the only one, though.

Does anyone know if the downloaded version of Uncharted 3 will access the same saved game data and trophies as the disc version? I don't technically have the game downloaded onto the HDD, but it's provided for by my account.

For those who were in my boat and did not get the e-mail, I e-mailed amazon and the rep told me that I have the standard edition even though when I click on the launch edition I get that instant order update at the top of the screen. I think when I go to pick up the Last of Us tomorrow, that I will see if my local gamestop is still accepting pre-orders. I have to get this console at release.
