Rumor: Our internal product release schedule from head office dropped yesterday and on Oct 21st an unnamed Sony console will be launched. Fyi all console revisions like the ps360 slims and Wii Mini were listed as ps360 & wii mini. Previously the wiiu, 3ds and vita were also only listed as Nintendo/Sony Console in the product name column.
Disclaimer: I just work at a very large retailer, managing the electronics sales force and nothing more. I have nothing to do with purchasing, nation wide merchandising or shipping. I am not trying to play this off as I have connections at Sony, or I am some sort of insider. It's that just yesterday we received a product release schedule from our head office and I thought this is OT itt. These schedules btw, are for internal use only, designed to allow us time to create our instore merch plans. If the launch date for a product is unknown, it's simply marked TBA. The only time a date is ever included is when we have received confirmation of said date from the product company.
TL;DR
Unnamed Sony console will launch on Oct 21. Console revisions usually state what console it is, so it doesn't seem like it's a PS3 or Vita.
I wonder if this rumor is true. The mods have verified him so it isn't something he just pulled out of his ***.
Works for me if true. I feel like this next generation is going to be a really good one. I feel like PS2/XBOX era was a great one, and this next one will surpass it. I enjoyed some of this current gen, but I just feel like something was always off
How would that release date even work though? Battlefield and Call of Duty are launch titles. As of right now Amazon has them listed coming out on October 29th and November 5th. This would mean the next gen games would release before the current gen games. That just doesn't seem plausible.

They could always release the system before the third party titles are released. It would give their first party games like Killzone, Knack and Driveclub increased sales due to nothing else being available for 1-2 weeks. People will want a game to play on the new system and might jump in on something they hadn't planned on getting right away.
Then there will already be a decent userbase out by the time the third party games like Watch Dogs is released a week or two later. F2P and indie games such as Blacklight, Warframe and Planetside 2 could come out on the possible release in October as well, which could tide people over until the AAA third party titles.

The problem though is they are supposed to be launch titles. Meaning these games should be there by the time the console launches.
I have my PS4 paid off in full, I don't care if it released early and I had the look at the system in the box for 2 2eeks until a game was released....LOL...Give it to us in October. I'm cool with that.

A poster over at PSU forum found an interesting video from Jack Trentton where he considers the holiday season to be October/November/December
I just hope its November...the week before thanksgiving (US). October is busy month for me....2 conferences, separate weeks, can't focus on the job while having PS4 seated at my home and no one is playing
