Does the Vita music option replace the in-game soundtrack?

You can patent some crazy things. Like all those DBZ games having a load screen mini game and Atari (I think that's it) has the patent for that.

You can tell how much I play sport games anymore. The last time I listened to outside music while playing a game was SSX. For that I just lowered my volume and put on a vinyl record.

It does most of the time.

For instance, even in The Show, the commentators will literally fade out if you resume your game while one of them are talking after starting up your music. There's no way to leave them on.

Then there are games like ZEN Pinball 2 where you must turn down its music if you don't want them to clash. It all depends on the game.

Has there been any details about PSN and paywalls?

MS confirmed a lot of their features are available to XBL gold members (including their sharing features).

Only thing behind the Paywall is online multiplayer. The f2p games do not need ps plus to play online.

Just that apps like Netflix will be free, PSN+ required for multiplayer (though F2P are all F2P). Not sure anyone expects everything announced to be free and are just waiting on the details. They're not going to sit back and watch MS rake in over a billion/year on Live again while they give away stuff. It could be tricky too, I've only really been enjoying PSN+ for a few months and I'm already conditioned to not really buy anything unless it's free/discounted for both PS3 and Vita.

                  Unrelated, no more day 1 pre-orders: http://www.officialplaystationmagazi...-one-delivery/

I still the decision to market it as $5/mo. rather than $60/year was great.

It didn't sound bad at all when announced.

If they deliver anything close to what they have with PS+ then it will pay for itself plus some.

I like that MS is getting into the free game business, but offering Crackdown as a free game is laughable to me. I can pick up enough change from the Wal Mart parking lot to buy that.

I'm still holding on to my preorders, but I have a feeling PS4s will be readily available.come November.

It's suggested in a few of the articles I've seen about it that while Sony has cut off day-1 guarantees, they're still promising more units than what are being preordered so that they're available for walkups on launch day.

It didn't say in that article but I wonder how long they hold that patent for?

I'm assuming the Vita can do it because it's a handheld and not a console by definition?
Not even big deal, mute the TV and play the music from your computer.

Some of us like to have the game's sound (sans music) also playing.

I know what you want to say next: "Turn down the music slider and play music from your computer." Doesn't work so well when your PS3 is connected to your receiver with your 5.2 speaker setup and you're playing through your crap computer speakers.

                                Thankfully, I have one.

Won't replace my Klipsch towers, though. An extra set also can't fit in my bedroom.

I think there's just something about the feature playing through your PS3 that's just kind of awesome. Like people who prefer physical discs over digital versions of games, just for the sake that they like it. I don't really know how else to put it.

Like for walkup music, we could cue songs to our players manually if we wanted to. I'd just prefer the game did it though.
