New feature? Thought I heard this was available before. Just in case you haven't heard.

When a user purchases a PlayStation 4 game on his or her smartphone from anywhere in the world, the PS4 console at home will automatically wake, download the game, and then go back to sleep.

I wish I cared about Second Son. I like the visuals and the Seattle setting, but I've never cared for the Infamous series at all. Still, awesome to look at.

Love inFamous (though haven't played the 2nd, or finished the first) but I think the freedom of movement in the Prototype is actually why I don't 'value' it as much as an open world game.

Another quiet feature announcement/confirmation on the DS4:

That's great news. I have never been a chatter, but prefer to trust my instincts and listen to the general ambiance of the game I am playing with headphones.

Honestly, as the days/weeks go by (I have both consoles pre-ordered just in case) the only clear answer is to just wait and let the dust settle for the first few months and make a choice after that. This next gen more than any other might be best to just wait, skip day one purchase and let both systems be out for a bit before making a choice.

My 360 RRD in the first month and my ps3 collected dust for the first year. If I could go back in time, I should've just waited. Anyone else feel the same?

Yes, PS3 collected dust in our household, bought one earlier than I wanted because of the illusion of the necessity of backwards compatibiity that they were removing. Would have been better off just buying a Blu-ray player.

With it only just now hitting $199 I'm not sure we would have ever purchased one.

Like I said in teh XBOX thread. I love console release times and am excited to get one and hook it up.
I don't see me ever waiting past release days for consoles without at least one of them in my hands that day.

With the Gakai thing, do you have to pay for the service or for games that you already bought for PS3?

This is my mindset also. Even if I could afford to get one now (which I can't), the launch titles don't mesmerize me enough to go through the release day stuff. I'm thinking by next summer/fall, the game lineup will be much stronger and hopefully any kinks will be worked out.

Target still is. Also ask if the store you are preordering at is taking your information down to ensure that your system that you preorder is yours. Otherwise they can just sell it to anyone who just shows up on release date. I know that was a massive problem last year for WiiU. Your preorder card should have the store's address on it as well.

Nothing has been confirmed at this point for it. Rumor is it may be part of Plus or for a fee, but only thing mentioned is it will be available sometime in 2014.
