I assumed since those games are tied to our PSN IDs, we'd be able to download them on the PS4.

I think I shed a tear when I saw the virtual reality headset. Brings back memories of going to the mall and climbing in a massive machine for a just barely 3D experience.Comment

One could only run on the other with an emulator (probably of the entire OS) and that isn't coming, instead we'll get some streaming options/services.Comment

Everything with red lines is all I remember back in those days. I hope they do something more with it now, but they keep going back to these old techs like VR and 3D, but they just never pan out.Comment

I'm not sure about the PS4 being HDMI only, but if it is, there are HDMI switches that work perfectly fine. Here's the one I use: http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-High-Per...=operasport-20Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
For some reason I thought bandwidth in many EU territories was better off than the US, but it's what caused Sony to not talk about Gaikai-powered stuff at Gamescom. Interview talks about why they're only launching it in the US in 2014 and no details of how soon any other territories will come online.
Cloud service technology set to roll out across America in 2014, but poor broadband in Europe is causing Sony problems.
Could this end up being similar to BC in EU, and never come? I expect this to be used for a lot more than that (instant full game trials, etc) so I find that hard to believe, hence the partnerships with ISPs they mentioned.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
This really seems to be the wave of the future. At first I was dismissive of the Oculus Rift, but seeing people rave about it so hard has made me a believer of the technology. Probably won't see it for a few more years, but damn **** looks amazing.

Sony is allegedly working on a PlayStation 4 VR headset to rival the Oculus Rift.
According to Eurogamer, multiple anonymous sources have claimed Sony was planning to reveal the device at Gamescom last week before deciding to pull it at the 11th hour. It's now expected to surface officially sometime next year.
Details about the device are thin on the ground, but it's apparently been demonstrated internally with DriveClub. When used in conjunction with the racer from Evolution Studios, players can look around the cockpit of the car they're in to check out the high level of detail up-close.
Eurogamer points out that Evolution's studio is also where Sony's World Wide Studios Stereoscopic 3D team hangs is hat, so it makes sense that DriveClub has been tested with the device.
While Sony is resolutely refusing to say anything concrete, when Shuhei Yoshida was asked by the site at Gamescom whether the company was investigating a VR headset for use with the PlayStation 4, he replied, "We don't talk about that."
