I'm still finding it hard to believe the Vita is going to run my PS4 remotely so easily. There has to be a catch. It just seems too awesome. Like do I have to leave my PS4 on all day? Can I turn it on/off remotely? Can I choose to start a digital copy remotely? Obviously a hard disk would have to be inside the console. Can I run apps like Netflix? How much does it cost to have a 3G/4G account per month if I don't have wifi. And will this actually work??! Playing my PS4 remotely on a Vita? It's so back to the future II.

About the only thing I don't think I like is no 1080p and there will probably be some input lag. The price point is spot on however, we'll see what transpires.

Just played the PS3 FIFA 14 demo and just wow.

I was going to skip FIFA 14 but man. This is a must get for me.

I have to decide what game to hold off on. Might be Killzone since I'll already have a shooter in BF4.

Did you play FIFA '13 by chance? I have '12, but I notice in the demo they are advertising scouting as if it is something new. Did they remove that from career mode in '13? It just seemed strange to me.

Obviously only a demo: it feels a lot different than '12, but there remain a lot of similarities. I would appreciate more differentiation with 2 years in between (namely in the presentation). Either way I was going to wait for the PS4 version.

Why would 1080p even matter on a screen as small as the vita? Or were you not talking about the vita?

Is that whole thread about the Vita TV? It seems like the remote play for that is limited to a within the same network the PS4 is on whereas the Vita streaming seems like its accessible from everywhere. Or did I miss something?

Edit: Long thread. Seems like it functions similar to the Vita. Damn. So basically its a "console" Vita?

Yeah I have 13. Scouting is in 13.

It looks like the scouting in 14 is just ramped up with different menu options and alot more clearer. But the functions seem to be the same.

Has player progression been improved at all, either in '13 or '14? In '12 my youth squad players and even my own player would progress dreadfully slow, like 1 point a season. I never played more than 5 years in career but this meant none of my players would ever reach their actual potential.

It was still an issue in '13 from what I remember. A real shame. I truly hope they've fixed that ish in '14.

Let's say you are playing your PS4, and someone on your friend list is playing a game on the PS3. Will you be able to see that your friend is playing a game on the PS3?

I hope so. It would be annoying if someone sent you messages while you are playing a PS3 game and vice versa.

I don't think they've detailed any interoperability examples but that sounds reasonable.

I don't have a ton of Vita guys on my friends list, but I could have sworn I had seen someone playing a Vita game on there once, so I'm sure it'd work the same.

If the remote play works like it seems like it will, I may just buy a Vita at Black Friday. If I could resume playing my MLB 14 franchise or my Madden franchise it would be worth it. Or even pick up from where I left off on a campaign.
