A bit of buzz on twitter about the ps4 not allowing footage on youtube. Surely that will prove to be false with ask all of the emphasis on sharing.

For people who like Fifa, are you soccer enthusiasts? I've always heard it was a great game, but I don't know a thing about soccer, nor have I been following it. With that being said, I don't want to miss out on a great game. I'll have to give this a try.

Well, I'm a fútbol (soccer) fan but I'm not a huge fan of FIFA. It's a very good and complete game with all their modes which some can be really addicting (Ultimate Team for example) but I haven't felt that the series has been a very good representation of the sport although FIFA 14 (from what I've played the demo) has improved in that aspect. Despite that, I believe FIFA is an entertaining game specially if you play online, I might get the game for the PS4 just to play with some OSers and to play with friends when they come home to see how's the PS4; I would like to see how PES will be on next-gen consoles since PES 2014 has tons of potential to be great with the FOX engine.

If worse comes to worse I will just use Twitch or Twitter.

I have no allegiance to YouTube. As long as there is a place to share I am fine with uploading it anywhere.

I read the awkwardly titled thread about this over at neogaf and I'm confident people will be putting vids up on YouTube either way.

There's an obvious discrepancy in game development on the PS4 and Xbox One, especially in terms of how long it takes to get a game running on the xbox one even with a poor framerate, in contrast with the PS4 which could be running virtually instantly.

This is anecdotal from E3, but...

I've heard the architecture with the ESRAM is actually a major hurdle in development because you need to manually fill and flush it.

So unless MS's APIs have improved to the point that this is essentially automatic, the bandwidth and hardware speed are probably irrelevant.

For reference, the story going around E3 went something like this:

"ATVI was doing the CoD: Ghosts port to nextgen. It took three weeks for PS4 and came out at 90 FPS unoptimized, and four months on Xbone and came out at 15 FPS."

Then a mod replied:

FWIW a Japanese developer was having similar issues apparently. They will remain nameless for obvious reasons.

This mod has ties to Square Enix, so I'm guessing that they're the dev that he's talking about.

Edit: Also please note that the above quote is from a developer with games on both PSN and XBL, so it's not just a random poster on GAF.

Edit2: One of the posters basically summed up the situation very well.

While I'm sure the Xbone version will get optimized to 60fps with extra work, this (and other anecdotes) point out a big strength of the PS4: Easier to program than the Xbone.

Cerny did an excellent job in designing an architecture that focused on "time to triangle" and fixed one of the major flaws in the PS3 architecture, namely very complicated to program.

The PS4 is both the more powerful console and the easier to program console. That combination will put Sony in a good position with game developers.

I have a question. Don't know if it has been answered by Sony.

Let's say you are playing your PS4, and someone on your friend list is playing a game on the PS3. Will you be able to see that your friend is playing a game on the PS3?

I hope so. It would be annoying if someone sent you messages while you are playing a PS3 game and vice versa.

I would think it's possible since it was implemented with the Vita. Hopefully we get more on these little things over the next 2 months.

I was reading that this morning as well, interesting.

Yeah, he also explained that it isn't a huge deal because the xbox one can be improved as well, they just need more time and better APIs (which they might also have by now). He just found it interesting that it's the opposite of what it was last generation and that it's a good sign that Sony obviously listened to the devs and their concerns about the PS3. It's earned Sony a lot of good will.

I agree. It also goes for the company as a whole as I have worked with Sony reps for over 8 years now and when I first stated all their reps were arrogant A-holes. Over the last few years they have sent out more down to earth people that have listened to our feedback. Seems their struggles over the past few years made them change in a number of ways.

To the tech type guys, will the Vita remote play and the Vita TV PS4 remote play (on a different tv) really perform that well?

This is a big feature for me, but I'm skeptical on lag and all this, even on local wifi....

Have there been any of the tech blogs or whatever (the ones talking about PS4 vs Xbox One coding easier) that talk about this issue?

If this feature is really good, it would probably tip the scales for me. I could get a Vita and Vita TV and be able to play PS4 all around my house on multiple tvs.
