I don't think applying a gift card to your account will work on current orders (unless you give amazon a call)

What I did was buy amazon gift cards for myself and in the order details page, at the bottom, there is a field to that says "enter claim code" . That is where you put in the gift card number and that should apply the amount to the PS4 order. That is what i did and I currently have a Grand total of $0.00 left to pay on my PS4 from amazon .

If you applied the gift card amount to your amazon account (not to an existing order) , I think it may apply to your order when it ships or to new orders. You may want to call Amazon and have them apply the gift card amount to your PS4 order.

I bought gift cards that I applied to my account. It did not go directly to my open orders. I had to call and get it applied to my order and as of today it is on my order. Hope this helps

Looks like the current gaming headsets we have are going to work with the ps4, but they will not work at launch. This kind of sucks, but at least they will work eventually.

The answer we received from Sony is complicated. If you have a Sony-branded PULSE gaming headset (or the elite edition of that product), you will need to wait for a system update coming in the future. It seems that those will not work at all at launch.


Any other headset that relies on bluetooth for chat will not work at all. If you have something that relies on USB for chat (like the Astro mixamps and Astro A50 wireless system), you'll eventually be able to use those. An update will be coming in the future.


Any headset that relies on digital optical for game audio will continue to provide that out of the box. You just won't be able to chat yet.

Yup..my thoughts exactly. Sounds weird so not sure how true that is.

I think that's for a German store. Not sure if we'll see it in the states.

You can apply gift card balances to existing orders at any time via the web, but you cannot apply promotional certificates to existing orders, only when the order is initially created...

When I have applied a gift card balance to my pre-order (have done several times), the amount has been applied instantly and deducts from my grand total on my order page. If you look up your gift card balance on your Amazon account page, you should also see a pending charge there for the total gift card amount you have applied to that particular order (with the order number). Also, I would check your gift card balance page and make sure you see a line item for the gift cards being added to your account. If you are not seeing transactions for what you have added/applied there or a pending charge on your pre-order, I would give them a ring ASAP.

Just got off an online Chat with Amazon and got them to apply my gift cards to my ps4! Thanks for the reply's guys, I have no idea what happened with that but next time I'm going to apply the gift card to the order instead of my account like ckarlic suggested.

So does this mean my ps3 afterglows will not work EVER for the ps4 when it says that all Bluetooth will not work? Because if that's the case that sucks donkey balls! I bought them with the purpose of something universal I can use with ps3 and 4!

In the article it says that all types of headsets will work eventually once they release a patch for it sometime after launch. There is no way to now how long after launch that will be though. I hope it is like a day one patch kinda of thing, but who knows.

This is the headset that comes with the ps4. It is a mono headset and mainly used just for chat purposes.






I have the pulse elites and really enjoy using them for my gaming. They make the experience much more immersive with their built in surround sound and bass impact. I think it sucks that those of us who have bought gaming headsets will not be able to use them at launch on the ps4, but at least we will be able to use them at some point.

The same thing goes for xbox one as well though. They are supposedly releasing some sort of adapter that you have to purchase to make current headsets work on it, although it does come with a headset too.

Damn I want to get my hands on that controller. People that have played with the DS4 say it is virtually impossible to enjoy the DS3 again.

I can't help but think that the Pulse Elite headset will still work (in some capacity) by plugging the cord into the controller headphone jack. I'll see on release day I guess, because I'm definitely going to try it lol.

I may be in the minority, but I don't want to even touch a PS4 demo or the DS4 until I'm unboxing mine. I want to soak in everything the first time I play it.

Has anyone pre-ordered games on gamestop.com for in store pickup? Is there any downside to this or is better to just do the old fashion way and pre-order in person? Trying to think of the best way to do this.

Its actually better to pre order online for in store pick up because you are not required to put any money down on the game. In store you gotta put $5 down.
