Not for Game installs, you can upgrade the internal though: http://techland.time.com/2013/09/04/...heres-a-catch/

The Xbox One you can't upgrade, but the primary purpose of the USB 3.0 port on the back is for HDD expansion including game installs.

I, personally, can't see the point of going digital over physical media.. You'll use up that 500GB hard drive quick with demos and 5-10 games, the price of games is the same, and you can't trade in the game when you're done. Am I missing something?

Now, maybe if the prices were lower on the downloaded games, I would bite, otherwise, give me my archaic blu-ray disc please.

I can't tell you the last time I traded in a game, but I can tell you the last time my toddler lost one, or I shut the console off instead of digging out an old title out that I had the itch to play. Digital benefits are largely intangible outside of the obvious convenience for those that digital doesnt create new barriers for (storage, bandwidth)

The good news are that Playstation 4 uses regular 2.5 inch laptop hard drives, so for a fraction of a cost that you would have paid for the premium PS4 set you can upgrade the HDD yourself. In near future come here and we will provide the step-by-step illustrated instructions and video guides on how to safely open your console, take out the old drive and insert your new faster or larger HDD.

                Personal preference.

Not having to go to a store, wait for a delivery, scratch a game, collection is always with me (just grab and go if I'm traveling), etc.

                This argument is what's archaic.

You buy Blu rays but I'm sure you have no problem downloading your music mp3 collection to your laptop/computer/iPod.

The only time I've been to a store is to pick up a used game the past 2-3 years. Plus, there's a Wal-Mart and Game Stop within 5 minutes of my house. I could probably pick up a new game in the amount of time it takes to download a 50GB game.

IF internet speeds were to a point where downloading a full title video game was comparable to downloading songs or even full albums then I could see the correlation, but for a lot of people buying physical is still the best and preferred option.

Obviously forgot about that, but pricing is really my only hang-up at the moment.

At the Sony store right now playing the ps4. I love the new dual shock. Heavier and bigger than the pa3 dual shock. Played FIFA and Knack. Not too impressed by the knack graphics. Knack looks like it could be a high level ps3 game. FIFA looked great. Crowd and the lighting is incredible.

That's why I said personal preference.

Regardless of how close a store is to me, I can lay in my bed and start downloading a game from the PS4 app on my phone.

And start playing it before the d/l even finishes.

                          No brainer for me.

Access to all.of my games on Vita from another room seamlessly would be worth paying a premium also.

Really all.depends on our use cases, I'm sensitive to price too, they need to do a lot better. Prototype on PS3 shouldn't be $10 only on sale. At this point games that old should just be $10.

No matter how you slice it, I don't think you will ever see digital go more main stream with consoles until they adapt a more steam like approach to it. There is far more people who will take the trade in benefits and potential extra cash over the benefits of digital only.

I'm a steam user with 70+ games and love digital only for my PC, but also getting top end titles like Sleeping Dogs for $15 bucks not long after the retail release. Now to clear that up I'm far from saying digital needs to have that kind of price reduction but even $10 bucks would go a long way. I think $15 would be the sweet spot though. NBA2k14 for $45 Launch Day digital download and I'd be all over that every single time because recouping more than $15 on a trade is slim and select to rare trades so the price reduction offsets the trade in benefits, plus instant accessibility.
