Well, I cancelled my PS4 Pre-Order today. It was disappointing but my lady brought it to my attention that we need a new washer and dryer. Given how much she's sacrificed for my current gaming situation, it's only fair that I return the favor. I'm sure I'll be playing with some of you in early 2014.

I am STUNNED at the lack of support for DNLA and MP3. What in the **** is that all about?

There's no going back to playing sports games without authentic arena/stadium sounds. I have put countless hours into it for The Show, NBA 2K and NCAA and it is an enormous boost to the atmosphere and realism.

Yeah this is fairly idiotic move by Sony. Games like The Show, NBA 2K, and WWE use custom soundtracks and now this option is not there. I am still going to pick up the PS4, but this is not cool. I use this feature for The Show and WWE. Hopefully people can get Sony to change their mind.

When does Sony plan to have bluetooth headset connectivity available on the PS4? I guess temporarily we'll have to use the included mic and earbud, but I would prefer to not have to use those things for very long. My old headset seems to work just fine.

Is their music service a streaming service or download?

Edit: I really don't see how they can go without an option to, at the very least, import cds/mp3s to the HDD to be used as "in-game" music. It would seem silly to seemingly give up custom soundtracks as a feature and essentially send it gift-wrapped to the competition.

Nope forcing people to try/use their movie and music service

They'll cave once they don't see a significant jump in the usage of those services and the negative press from not including those options.

to voice my dissaproval of this. This is nuts that they are not adding this to the PS4. I suggest we all send them a message so they can add this back in software update. I was just on another forum with a few people saying they rather get a XBox One now because of these missing options. I know its not a deal breaker for some but its about the principal that Sony is presenting the image of there tyring to force people to buy that Sony Music Service and its not going to work out well for them, and that fact that these features were already on the PS3 and they removed them. I loved uploading music, sharing content on my PS3, adding custom sounds to the games. We need to let our voice be heard so they can fix this.

I don't care about .mp3's or DNLA. I have a smart TV so I stream everything right to it. Hell I don't even listen to MP3's that much anymore I just stream Amazon cloud or Pandora for that anyway.

I just want the PS4 to be a bad *** gaming machine. Which I think it will be.

Maybe they see the Chromecast/Smart TV features providing those services in the future and don't want the overhead of supporting these apps anymore.

The mp3 thing is by no means a deal breaker to me. But, streaming music was one of the things I loved about my 360 before I switched, and I had really been looking forward to using it again. It's not cool that they announced that we could listen while playing, but not what the caveats were.

On the no CD front, they announced that they cut the CD reader out of it to cut down on costs I believe.

Also, I could have sworn that they said that external hard drives would be usable during one of the announcements. I remember posting in here that I was going to consider using a 1TB external to run stuff, and I feel like others did as well.

You got the hook up with the 2K guys right? Could you work the phones and see if you can get any info out of them or other devs on this?

I am not going to jump the gun at this point as I could see it getting patched in later, but if not......

This is a Sony issue not a game publisher issue. Without the software, the game publishers cant add custom music.

Doesn't affect me one bit, but it seems odd that Sony would remove custom sounds when one of their system sellers (The Show) uses it prominently.

Just tweeted them as well. Unless we hear something regarding this before launch, I'm cancelling my pre-order. Not going to hold onto the system in the hopes that it will be patched.
