I agree it makes little sense but most decisions that do from corporations are usually money motivated.

Yes...unfortunately you are right.
Which is why it might be a tough sell to the suits to change it.

LOL! Who called it "console breaking?" Its a silly and greedy omission by both companies. I never play online and personally find it useless but I wouldnt be ok or disregard people's anger if either company took away a feature that people who do play online love.

They wont gain financially from this. Most people including me arent going to pay to stream or play music when we can do it for free through other devices. If I wanted to stream music I would use the other apps like Spotify before I bought Music Unlimited or Xbox Music. Its a fools errand by these companies and thats the only thing that makes me feel ok. One or both of them will realize that no one is paying for this service, realize that there are people like the_future who will buy a system that can read mp3s or stream content and decide to add the feature back in by software.

I don't think he meant anyone in this thread in particular...just in general and for himself(I feel the same way)...

I fully agree with everything else you said.
It's a head shaking decision IMO.
Not many people are going to buy into the service because "they have to".

Yeah I wasn't talking about you or anyone in particular. I honestly wonder if these companies have been processing a bunch of data and used that to come to conclusions about this gen and how they should approach it.

This has never to my knowledge been a huge topic of discussion even here, so it doesn't seem like something people overall would consider a big deal I guess.

I never agree with not giving the consumer options. Personally im not interested in spotify or MU and won't be using that either.

I use mp3s for in-game music for games like The Show and NCAA. I'll miss it if they don't add it in but it's not something that will make me regret going next-gen.

So does it support .wav files? LOL... No seriously, that would probably suffice for stadium sounds. That's the only reason I'd miss music playback.

I always liked Xbox better simply because on Xbox I could fire up a FPS, put on some Metallica and just relax...I am the opposite of you.. I find it hard to believe anyone does not use their own music while gaming....it customizes and greatly enhances the experience IMO...

Wow, like everyone else I feel taken a back that they would remove mp3 and dlna support. I use to watch mkv files on my ps3/Xbox constantly. Ridiculous that they would remove such a basic feature that is practically on every electronic device now a days.

Did nba 2k14 get it's release bumped to the 12th instead of launch?

I have a BB preorder that recenetly changed from 11/15 to now 11/12?

I know this has been discussed before, but I don't want to go back through 600 pages. I have all current gen games. Nba 2k14, FIFA 14, madden 25, etc. will there be any deals or ways to upgrade to next gen w out buying the game again at full price?
Should I hold off on COD and Battlefield until nov 15?

Shoot, I listen to music with my PS3 regardless. It's my little bedroom media hub. I listen to it while grading papers, cleaning my room, watching sports, playing guitar (playing to the song, that is), napping... it's what I do it on.

Maybe to you, but not for me. Everyone I know will have next gen within the next 2 years. The talk about ps3 vs ps4 users squaring off in the future doesn't excite me at all. Realistically, that wouldn't happen for what, atleast a year? I don't think I'll have a problem finding people to play games online with..

I just want 2k a bit earlier since I'm unsure of how long the shipping will take. Having it before the ps4 release guarantees me playing it at launch.

Don't tell me what's a bigger deal lol.
