The ps4 doesnt read mp3 files or recognize external hard drives (and probably not flash drives). There is no workaround at launch.

Well this Sucks wasn't MP3 support announced for PS4? If so I really hope they add it back in cuz I'm not paying for there rip off Music Unlimited Service. The music on there sucks anyway not any I like.

So this better be added in asap thanks

With that said I'm still thankful that ingame music is actually in! Yea it sucks we can't use mp3 right now.

Hopefully that will be added within the 1st 6 months but right now since my desktop computer is down until 2014 I won't be able to use my.mp3 unless sony offered a way for.me to transfer my songs from my ipod. Cuz all.my fav songs are om.there.

& since my desktop is down I don't have access to all my mp3 files so hopefully when.I get.my.computer fixed by may 2014 mp3 support will have been added. Thanks

I have a question about the Target 'Buy 2, Get 1 Free' Deal', If I pre-order two games online, will I be able to get the 3rd game or is it just a pick up in the store thing?

I'm hoping they offer it at some kind of discount through PS+ or some other deal. I have it now, but only because I got it for $12 as a PS+ member last year. At that price it was a steal, but I don't think I would use it enough to warrant full price.

Overall, I thought the music selection was pretty good, but that's just my opinion. And speaking from a $12/year subscription cost lol.

So, KillZone and NBA 2k14 are moving up their release dates?

If so that makes the Target deal even more appealing so that I don't have to deal with that crowd on Friday morning.

I'm 46 and feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas. New console launches are fun. It's good to have things to look forward to in life.

Even better is I was able to pay off both PS4 and Xbone with trades and money from a second job, so my wife won't be complaining.

I think so as well. I would like to be able to continue using option files on PES next year, so this is needed for me. The .mp3 thing is a bummer too, but I'm still all in on the PS4.

The lack of support for external hard drives is disturbing to me.

This sucks. A game like PES on consoles is entirely dependent upon option files loaded from USB's and custom stadium sounds. From a media standpoint I use my 360 all the time to play movies, music, and old sports games that I have dl'd over the years.

Statements like this annoy the hell out of me. I've only seen one person in this thread say they werent getting the ps4 because of the lack of mp3s and streaming. I actually made a post saying why I would still get a ps4 even though its missing a feature that I consider important. You are debating a point nobody made.

Your first post and this one serve no real purpose other than to troll the people that consider those features important.

I love how disagreeing with you is trolling. Hysterical. I said I think it will still be a bad *** gaming machine. I'll be playing games at 1080p at 60FPS on a console. For $400? Yeah that's pretty bad *** IMO.

Your opinion is that it doesn't stream music so it's not bad ***. You were pretty clear on that.

I doubt we'll see MU at $12/yr again. I subscribed when it was recently on sale for $42/yr. well worth it IMO especially since they added offline mode for iOS.

However, to use the USB method the first time you take PS4 out of the box and before installing system software update 1.50, you’ll need to enable safe mode. When PS4 is powered off, press and hold the Power Button for seven seconds to enter safe mode. Note: Users should only update using official files downloaded from PlayStation.com.

In-store only. I think I am going to pick up NBA 2k and Black Flag early. And then go the morning of the 15th and get Knack. Then go to the Customer Service desk and return then and re-buy with the deal. If they won't let me do it, I'll return them all and they get no money.

Wow I didn't know so many people listened to mp3 s while playing. I also never stream music or any of that stuff from my consoles.

I don't just listen to music while playing, but I have used MP3s for in-game music like stadium sounds on sports games. That will be missed. But hopefully they will be supported by the time The Show 14 rolls around.

Didn't the PS3 not always support avi files? Wasn't that a firmware upgrade in the early days? So hopefully that is just something that will repeat on the PS4. Definitely need to get the Netflix app on the PS4 asap though.

It has to read flash drives in some fashion because you can use a flash drive to update the firmware/day one patch.

Although I don't think it will read/write to them for MP3s or any other type files when not in "Safe Mode".

yea "safe mode" sure rest of the menu, games etc will be unavailable in "safe mode"
