I'm extremely worried about my PS4 being faulty. Lots of reports of this happening.

I wouldn't worry about it man. If a total of 7 systems were faulty out of the 4,000 that were sent out that's not that bad.

Problem is I have such bad luck that I will be one of those guys. I think I had a bad sign already. I was number 2 in line, but my Gamestop somehow messed that up and I am now number 3 in line. So my guess is the guy is going to get the system I was supposed to get will work fine. But my system which was supposed to be his will end up faulty. I just know my luck and bad signs lol.

Wasn't the faulty percentage listed earlier in this thread as like 0.167% as opposed to launch Xbox 360's 16%?

Or am I "inventing statistics" drunk right now?

Well that's the number before everyone gets their consoles. It might increase quite a bit once everyone fires up their PS4's.

Don't be worried about it till you actually have it and it actually happens to be faulty.

The failure rate is 0.4% according to Sony.

That's a long way away from the 3% failure rate the PS3 had.

Looks like plans may have changed for me. Might be doing the midnight release at gamestop now. Love living in a smaller area . So easy for their midnight release no time I have to be there. They are opening at 10pm to finish of payments but i really only have to be there before 12 to finish it all up. This will be so much easier then when I lived in CA

Just make sure to hook up the system as soon as you get home and put it through the ringer. If it's messed up you can go to Gamestop first thing in the morning and if they have any extras left they can hook you up, if not then you have to send back to Sony. If mine's messed up, I don't have it as easy, have to deal with Amazon. You can't worry about that, this is such a low percentage of faulty reported consoles that your going to give yourself a heart attack waiting in that line. LOL!

Same here. They are having separate groups..1 for each register. I'm in second group and 3rd in line

Just make sure to hook up the system as soon as you get home and put it through the ringer. If it's messed up you can go to Gamestop first thing in the morning and if they have any extras left they can hook you up, if not then you have to send back to Sony. And by ringer he means drop into a pale of boiling water, then dig up a hole in the soil and bury it.

After all that then go ahead and set it up and connect it to your Emerson.

If it fires up it will have survived the dreaded ringer and you are now a proud faulty free PS4 owner!!!!

My PS4 just arrived in Nashville. I'm actually in Nashville for this Titans game. I could save them the trouble of delivering it to me in KY if they just let me come get it after the game, lol.

How are most people here going to update the firmware for their PS4? Through usb device or the regular way with the PS4 connected to internet.
