Kinda slow at times (for instance, peoples info with the spinning circles of info loading) but it's definitely up.

So far, my launch experience has been great. Love, love, love the UI. It makes me consider canceling my xbox pre-order. The new controller is simply the best, love the fell of that thing. Haven't gotten to sign into PSN yet, but not too worried about that yet. Hopefully it's a little better today.

Yeah, I don't think it's ever been "down".

Ive been connected with no issues since I picked it up at midnight launch. Just people having connectivity issues it seems from what I've read.

Getting my system later today and trying to decide between FIFA, Battlefield and Killzone. Any advice?

Im def getting 2K and Madden.

I received two Ps4's, one from Amazon, and one from Gamestop from Ups yesterday. I must say the one from Gamestop arrived dramatically better as far as prepped for travel. The Amazon one was not damaged at all but it felt loose in the box even though there was packing material inside. The Gamestop box shipped in a heavy duty box packed with a ton of bubble packs.

I know there will be manufacturing defects with these consoles but I am sure some of these failures could be caused by shipping and not being prepped as well as they could have been.

I'm hearing about tons of launch PS4's (based on the amazon reviews) that died briefly after initial usage).

Any of you guys experience this?

Nope my ps4 is working perfectly!! I must be one of. Lucky ones who ordered from Amazon!!

Yes I think so as I'm trying to add my nephew ps3 account to my system as he coming over today.. & all I get is a PlayStation network is currently undergoing maintenance.. message so it must be down..

A few quick impressions (I think I'll blog some more in-depth ones):

Other than not being able to get on PSN at first, no real issues for me, so far. I did get the data corrupt problem in BF. But I downloaded the update with no problem and was up and playing with no problem (though I still have no idea how to play BF).

I posted last night that one of my friends couldn't get video. Turns out that wasn't a PS4 issue. He's got an entertainment center with a projector and he thinks the cable to the projector went bad since the PS4 will display 1080i but not 1080p. When he hooked the PS4 up directly to the projector with the included HDMI, it worked fine.

I don't do social media - no FB, no Twitter - so I'm not sure how the social aspect of the PS4 is going to sit with me. Though I have been adding you guys who have sent friend requests. I almost never played online with the PS3; that may change with the PS4.

The UI is pretty slick, but it gets confusing whether a game is fully downloaded or not. Or if it needs another update, like 2K did.

The way the games are set up as apps really makes me want to go digital only. I'd love to not have to swap out discs. Sony and MS really need to make it worth it for me financially to ditch discs.

Gamewise, KZ and BF look amazing. I had no idea what I was doing in terms of gameplay. But I had never played either one before. NBA 2K, also amazing. I'm going to log some serious time with it. I thought Madden looked good and played well. It's not on 2K's level, but it's better than CG for sure. Injustice is a straight port. I couldn't tell a difference from the PS3 version, though it is better using the DS4.

I'm already giggling like a schoolgirl thinking about The Show on this machine.

When I woke up the PS4 out of standby I had no sound and could bring it back until I powered down and restarted it.

No problems with my PS4 so far, but it was packed terribly by Amazon. almost no padding.
