I just do not understand what they are doing with Dreams, looks like a complete dud.

      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Well last night I pulled the trigger on the PS4.

Got The Last of Us Bundle, and picked up Bloodborne and MGS5.

      2 quick questions:
      1. Is it best to just turn off the ps4 or put it in rest mode? I did rest mode last night so Last of Us could download, and today the ps4 wouldn't respond and I had to hold the power button in for 10 seconds before it restarted.
      2. Is PS plus worth it if I don't plan on playing online games? Mainly will be playing single player adventure games.

      Thanks

Really surprised we'll see No Man's Sky at a 3rd E3. Thought it would be out in the next few months, not June.

          1. User preference really. If you have slow internet then put it in rest mode.

          2. PS Plus is needed to play some game modes in some games even if it is an offline mode. So PS Plus really is mandatory since so MANY games require you to be connected to that game's server in order to function.

For me, disappointing....although, nothing is official yet.

New game introduced as an exclusive is called Boundless which looks eerily familiar

It seems like a content creator type game similar to the Toy Box mode in Disney Infinity, Mario Maker, or LittleBigPlanet.

Probably not my cup of tea like something along the lines of robot dinosaurs, though.

Really, this looks like one of those big ideas that are too big to be plausible right now. It's too ambicious for it's own good.

                    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Just watched the entire Sony PGW press conference...

                    - Street Fighter V is definitely earlier than expected. Was expecting late April, instead it's mid/late February. This has me worried though that Uncharted 4 isn't going to make it's March release date but at the same time, it could just be that Sony wanted two exclusives to end their fiscal year.

                    - Dreams is weird and quirky. I personally have no interest in the game but those are the kind of games that MM makes. I'll give them credit for doing what they want to do but game just isn't for me.

                    - Horizon looks great. Can't wait to play it.

                    - PSVR looks "meh" but the Robinson game looks pretty cool. I have no interest in the rest but im expecting No Man's Sky and Ark to be compatible with it.

                    - Speaking of No Man's Sky, set for June 2016 but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back a few months as my prediction for PSVR is September 2016. Sony needs to make sure it's ready and the games are there. No Man's Sky still looks great and I definitely want to play it but even more than that, like most people, I want to know what you actually do in the game. Like, what's the main objective/purpose? Expecting it at PSX this December and of course, at E3 2016.

                    - Wild looks good but im guessing it's going to be a 2017 game because you can see, they're still very early in development.

                    - Detroit from Quantic Dreams looks cool in theory. Have to wait and see how it turns out. The lead character Kara was shown in a tech demo years ago which I actually watched just a few days ago. Funny coincidence. Have to wait for gameplay though.

                    - Until Dawn's Rush of Blood seems like a rush job to me for PSVR. Personally, they should have just let the game be as is and just start work on an Until Dawn 2 but with a different story, characters, etc. Of course, I have no interest in VR whatsoever so that definitely plays into my opinion.

                    - Gravity Rush 2 looks good and the original was one of the few Vita games that I wanted to play. Can't for the re-master and sequel.

                    - Gran Turismo Sport looks great and im sure it will be an excellent racing simulator. Drive Club "Bikes" is available now and all they need next is an off road racing game.

                    - Boundless looks cool. Interested in that.

Overall, a decent show. What was shown was pretty much expected. Was hoping to see Far Cry Primal and Alienation (especially since this was being shown and played while waiting for the conference to start) during Sony's press conference but oh well.

And in less than six weeks, PSX!!! Really hoping to see Sony Bend's game which is rumored to be a Last of Us type game. 2016 is definitely looking better than 2015.

Just bizarre that they had No Man's Sky on Colbert when it's not out until June. Must have had a major audible called and a significant delay.

If Sony is pumping money into it I wonder if their PC release plans might change.

True but Sony is pretty much funding the game and treating it like a first party studio game so even though it's taking a long time, I prefer Hello Games to take their time as opposed to rushing it out. And technically, the game was never delayed since it was never officially given a release window or date. June 2016 is the first announcement of anything related to it being released. I'm guessing PC will get released later on. With Sony funding the game, im definitely expecting it to be a PS4/PSVR/PC exclusive.

Who knows? It could still be released at the same time. Sony is funding SFV and that will have a simultaneous release on PS4 and PC so No Man's Sky could be the same. Personally, I don't care about PC as im not a PC gamer so if/when it gets released on PC means nothing to me. What does mean something to me is that the game turns out to be damn good and fun to play. If that means it's eight months away so be it.

To be perfectly honest, No Man's Sky is the PS4 version of Quantum Break in regards to it being shown earlier than it should have been but the difference is that No Man's Sky was just expected to be another Indie release. That changed once Sony started funding the game. As long as both games are good and worth buying, I'll be happy.

I prefer publishers to be what Bethesda and Ubisoft have done with Fallout 4 and Far Cry Primal respectively. Announce, show and release within six months. That's perfect for me.

Just have to wait and see how the game is. I'm just hoping it's good because it's one of my anticipated games for 2016 which looks way better and more stacked than 2015.
