for $25, I say a hell yeah.

While the last thing I need is another game, for $25 I'm thinking about jumping on that deal. $30 trade-in value at Best Buy. Almost like they're paying me to play.

KillZone: Mercenary is the Vita title, and it completely owns any other Vita FPS competition. It's definitely my most played game as of now.

This is a big loss for me and other Vita owners.

You are reading entirely too much into this, these places aren't shuttered. Doing large project development work of any kind, you end up with personnel bloat as you hire new guys to take up the slack from one project then don't let them go when they aren't needed. If you don't go in and occasionally take stock of employee base and get rid of some of the chaff you are just wasting money.

In case you are worried, as guys get laid off at all these studios, they have job postings and are hiring at various positions at all these studios.

I wouldn't worry too much. Driveclub was delayed for being not fun. Killzone didn't really compete with BF4 or COD. Playroom was a tech demo....

Nothing super amazing and devs do this regularly

There is one thing about Driveclub that makes it a bit different though. The game director for that game wasn't laid off. He left on his own. Starting to think we never see that game. At the very least it won't come near the hype they originally gave it and will probably be put back behind the next Gran Turismo.

Maybe not in sales, but gameplay-wise I thought Shadow Fall is better than any recent CoD I played.

I love Killzones MP, and still play it daily. I wish more people would take time to get used to it, its rewarding

Got it. I was speaking more in response to mgoblue saying that KZM wasn't much of a loss for PS4 owners, as KZM is for Vita. I guess I didn't really know what it meant that they were laying off people though.

How is Thief for PS4? I finally bought a PS4 last night, but I didn't pick up a game yet. I'm doing some reading to see which one will be my first one to keep me entertained until May 6th. Any helpful Thief feedback? Second Son looks awesome, but Thief for $30 sounds intriguing.

Yeah, scary industry. I do app support and own our wikis and ticketing tools at work. I've been headhunted by gaming companies before and volatility was one of the reasons I passed (along with wife having give up a good job and having to relocate)

Yeah, I mixed up the Killzone games, my bad.

My point was just that it happens pretty regularly, and it's not like they're trimming the talent from their top studios.
