Strike Suit Zero PS4 In A Nutshell

We won’t cover this too much since you’ll be able to read our previous thoughts in the Strike Suit Zero PC review, but if you haven’t heard of the game here’s what you’re getting.

A storyline campaign from the original Strike Suit Zero has been brought across, tackling the ever-galvanising threat of total obliteration of Earth by a rebellion faction.

Yes, it’s all very typical, we know.

What is cool is the three-dimensional space combat, which pits you against a variety of enemy types – and skills – tasking you with dogfighting, bombing runs and – as ever – evasion.

More than that, though, you’ve got the ability to morph into a mech, basically altering the way you manoeuvre through space and how you choose to smash apart your enemies.

The missions themselves aren’t much to get excited about, but the challenge involved and the bombast that comes with it are.

It’s slow to get going, admittedly, but there’s enough to tide you over and if you’re partial to the otherwise long-dead genre (or just fancy something different), then Strike Suit Zero will more than provide.

Just think of piloting a robotech suit and going into space to fight either in mech mode or transform into a plane and do your damage and all of the flying and explosions going on around you while you're out there like an all out war.

Hopefully someone does this right for both earth and space combat in one but yeah I'm getting this one since it's only 20 bucks.

Too bad there is no demo though

I have to agree. I feel that it's one of those games that is difficult for stupid and unfair reasons (like enemies jumping in from offscreen and immediately hitting you, infinitely respawning enemies with respawn points that trigger too quickly and closely, etc.) rather than presenting a fair and legitimate challenge.

Finally started COD: Ghosts after having the thing sit there unplayed since December. Pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying the game. Having not played a war themed shooter in years helps I guess. The story sucks, but I like how each mission gives you something different to do. My favorite mission so far is one that happens inside a baseball stadium. I don't know what it is about stadium levels in games. Max Payne 3 had a good one inside a soccer stadium. More developers should incorporate stadiums into their shooters.

I totally agree bro!! For some reason I have a huge fascination with stadiums and arenas lol.. So I pay close attention to detail in sports games

I was in the same boat until I heard about the Gamestop promotion where you can trade the PS3 version of the show and get the PS4 version for $19.99. So I broke down.

That's barely a promotion at all. You could just wait a few weeks and pay $60 for one game instead of $80 for one game and one temporary and inferior rental.

lol no way I pay $80 for a broken game considering Im primarily an online player. 2014 and still cant get online right, need to fire whoever is in charge of the online already how much longer we going to have to go through this? Hopefully not much longer considering PS Plus required for online play with PS4, no way a Sony exclusive takes advantage of its consumers with faulty online do they?

I don't see paid PSN having any bearing on the quality of online gameplay, first party or otherwise.
