    PlayStation 4 Discussion

Threw a perfect game last night in my first spring training game of my Cards' franchise. Used quick counts, so that helped quite a bit and I play on veteran difficulty so it wasn't an amazing feat or anything. I played it like a spring training game and used 5 pitchers; Wainright, Garcia, Freeman, Motte and Rosenthal. I panicked when I realized I had a perfect game going in the 6th inning and Sam freaking Freeman on the mound, but he got 3 outs for me.

Using quick counts made it a lot less daunting: a lot less opportunities to make a mistake.

        I'm not sure that's true because it's on PS3.

Yeah I don't think that's it. I searched over on the PS forums, evidently it's on HBO's software engineer's to develop and publish the app, and it is not in sony's hands.

          For what that's worth.

So I did try 2B and I did good. But when Im batting, the square (where you use for your batting/pitching) is missing. I tweaked some of the sliders....even I have limited knowledge about this game and its now gone. How can I bring this back?

Im impressed when the Toronto Bluejays drafted me on the 7th. I opted to go back to University...great decision. I think I am playing this mode for awhile
You can change your RTTS fielding settings from FIELDER to CLASSIC if you want the same base buttons as a regular game.

I'm seeing gappers, slow choppers, shots down the line etc..
As far a fielding speed I moved it down also I and rasied reaction up to 7 I think (To mainly help the infielders)
Batting I lowered the Solid contact?? or whatever it's called to either 1 or 0 can't remember off hand as well as some small adjustments to contact/power.

Defensively the players on the field still make the plays they should while many of the "they shouldn't have been able to get there" moments are less now.

Game is a blast. Currently 1-4 and I plan on playing every game.
Out of curiosity what drove you guys to use auto fielding? I used to use auto baserunning as well but now that Im in an online league wanted to get the hang of baserunning but I do use timing for hitting and classic for pitching so the rest is the same. Do you feel like you get to balls too quickly when controlling the fielders yourself? Not quick enough? Just wondering if Im potentially missing out on something by not using auto for fielding as well.

I love quick counts, I can see why some wont as some AB's are over almost as quickly as they begin but the ability to finish games in half the time far outweighs that for myself. Congrats on the perfect game, in back to back games I took no hitters into the late innings only to lose them. Greinke took a no hitter into the 8th in Arizona before giving up a solo blast, Ryu took a no hitter into the 9th and was 2 outs away before giving up a single. The interesting stat line was Ryu had a no hitter going but not a shutout thanks to some questionable fielding allowing 1 run to cross the plate. The Show is an awesome game, cant get enough of it.

For me it's because I want "some" input but also want ratings to matter more than my "stick skills"
So the happy medium for me is to use pulss pitching/timed hitting and auto fileding and base running.
In my franchise I have fielding speed at 0 (Players that should be making plays in gaps etc.. still do but balls that shouldn't be getting cut off aren't now etc..) and accel at 10. (Accel Mainly to help infielders as now I see much more diving attempts and balls that should at least be knocked down rather than the infileder just looking at a ball go past them.

Anyways like I said it's more of a rating mattering rather than my skill = auto fielding/ base running etc..

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a oversight. The upgrade was probably handled like DLC for the PS+ edition.

Good job making the change though, didn't really expect them to.

I know you were asking Sky, but I play pretty much the same settings as him.

I have used Armor&Swords and Marino's sliders for the past 3 versions of The Show. They work perfectly for how I like to enjoy the show.

They had an All Star version, a Hybrid version (which is All Star pitching and Veteran hitting - for those who struggle with hitting on All Star).

They also have a Quick Count sliders - All Star and Hybrid version as well.

                              -Timed hitting
                              -Classic pitching
                              -Auto fielding (with manual throwing)
                              -Assisted baserunning

There are very few changes to the sliders. Check them out, I bet you will enjoy them.

Fielding Speed 0 Reaction is 10

Can't remember the rest but they are uploaded.
I know some will say that is extreme but frankly I haven't seen an issue yet .
Love seeing gappers that shouldn't get cut off etc..
Once I set reaction to 10 I have seen much more balls get at least attempted to be fielded by infielders instead of the nonchalant effort. Some are made and some balls are just knocked down and trickle away from infielder.

Sure they aren't for everyone but for me they work for what I want and I like what I've seen. And if issues do crop up its an easy edit of the sliders
