Sometimes up with my HDMI outlet on my PS4. About once a week it won't turn on, so I have to unplug it, then it will start working again. Sometimes I to switch from one HDMI cable to the other, but most of the time unplugging does the trick.

I'm sure I'll have to swap it out eventually, but I'm good for now.

Only problem I've had controller-wise is from the DS4 I bought when I got the Show. Doesn't charge or anything, it has to stay plugged in to play.

I traded in 2K for The Show, but now I'm jonesing for some hoops. Thinking about picking it up at Target again since it's only $5 more there than what I got in trade.

          Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

My only issue I've had is this (and maybe somebody can chime in and tell me if this is anything to worry about or if it has something to do with MLB The Show and not my PS4 itself):

Sometimes I will turn on my machine, scroll over to MLB The Show and click on it, and the system will freeze. I can hold the PS button and get the menu to turn off controller, turn off the system, etc. But I can't move about through the actual dashboard. I've also noticed that when this happens, the icon that shows whether or not the disc for MLB The Show is in the machine says it's not in the machine, even though it is.

I'll turn the system off, but it won't shut off. I've left it running for 15 minutes before and it just doesn't shut off. The screen goes black, but the white light is still on the system pulsing.

So then I'll have it reboot in safe mode. It will go through safe mode and then start normally, where it gives me the message "the system did not shut down properly. Do not remove the AC cord while the system is shutting down or it could result in data loss" etc etc.

Then normally after that, it works.

This has happened to me at least 5 times since I got the game last tuesday, it's never happened with my only other disc based game (FIFA), or with any other game/app.

It just happened again, except this time I noticed that the "disc in tray" icon was showing it wasn't in the tray ahead of time, so I DIDN'T click on the game because I knew it would freeze. This time I just tried to prematurely shut down the system before it froze. But it still did the whole "won't shut down" thing where the light stayed on forever and I was still forced to manually shut down and reboot in safe mode.

Whenever this happens, after it reboots it always works fine. It's never given me any lasting issues. I'm just worried it might mean something is wrong with either the blu-ray drive or something else with the hardware.

I have an issue with one of my controllers. If I get a party invite, accept it and plug in the headset, I can't use the controller anymore. It basically becomes stuck. Direction pad or joysticks no longer function. If I don't plug in the headset, I can do anything with the controller. Functions like it should.

                Hey guys!

I have a dilemma here. The infamous joystick peeling has completely destroyed one of my controllers. I never called Sony because I never thought the issue was all that severe, but now, I can't even play with the controller.

It's the controller I got with my PS4, which I got on launch day.

What I'm trying to ask is, if I called, would they still replace it or is the warranty expired?

Is there a different between a 144 hrz or 60 hrz monitor hook up on a ps4?

Contact Sony, yes they'll replace it and send you a new one.

I had issues with my HDMI connection when I first got my PS4. I was using my own HDMI cable and sometimes when I turned the console on I would just get a black screen. Just for the heck of it I started using the sony supplied HDMI cable and have not had an issue since .

Yeah same issue I had. I have an HDMI switch and there was problems with the previous HDMI cable I had put in.

My extremely frustrating Error 31194-8 error that wasn't letting me download or update anything magically went away.

One of my R1 gets stuck occasionally, which leads to some pretty hilarious situations in Battlefield, where I keep thanking people or telling them i need ammo or something.. lol. I've popped it off but didn't see anything sticky causing a problem. I have another controller so I may call Sony and see if they can swap out the sticky R1 DS4.

But yeah, the PS4 is awesome and has huge potential.

I'm probably getting a PS4 in the next month.

Quick question for you guys. What's the deal with NBA 2K14 and FIFA 14?

I've been following the PS4 releases since the beginning. It seemed like the consensus about those games at launch was that they were great, but now when I read the forums, everyone talks about how they're crap.

Is it a case of a vocal minority picking apart the games, or are they actually deeply flawed once you get beyond the release day hype?

2K14 looks good... but that's about it. Over reliant on VC, terrible server issues and doesn't play a *great* game of basketball. Think of it like Madden these days. You should already know what you're getting. If you like it, good, pick it up. If not? Don't grab it.

Can't speak to FIFA, haven't played the next-gen version of it. My guess is it falls in the same boat.
