      Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

So this is the reason why PS4 don't have EA Access, Sony rejected it.

EA revealed its new Access subscription service for the Xbox One yesterday, which lets you play a bunch of EA titles, take advantage of discounts and get upcoming games early in exchange for a small monthly (or yearly) fee. While it might've looked like a platform-exclusive partnership with Microsoft, Game Informer has learned that Sony actively rejected EA Access for the PlayStation 4. "We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect," Sony said, adding that the success of PS Plus "shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price." And, just in case we hadn't got the message, Sony's statement concluded: "We don't think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer."

No DLNA until early 2015, PS Now open beta tomorrow with 100 PS1-3 titles.
Rentals only, subscription and rent-to-own schemes still being considered.

They need to promote PSNow bro. They would have to create a separate link to EA for users who would want it. Why would you want to add expense to this? Just a thought, why can't EA put those 4 games on PSNow? Not that I care to play old sports game.

To add, why should you pay $ for a demo? Is early access now the new word?

A ten percent savings towards games purchased maybe a door buster for some but, isn't EA the same company who said they didn't want to make a FIFA World Cup for NG because it wasn't worth it? TitanFall won't be included in now or in the future? So, EA picks and chooses what will go in this vault?

I'm finally going to buy Madden this year after a 7 year layoff. Never mind what they did to LIVE and Battlefield, and I'm going to give them extra money?

Wasn't EA one of the strongest advocates for DRM? Is EA a well trusted company?

              NO Thank you

How old is your daughter? Mine is 4....she still playing my Wii....but she watches me when I play PS4. And whenever I play MLB-TS (RTTS), she usually ask for the controller when my batter is practicing before the game. Sometimes she surprises me because she can hit a HR, 1-3x at a given time.

Whenever she's around, I try my very best to "behave" properly....no throwing of controllers in front of her....no bad expressions Thats what little kids can do to their dad

BTW, I received an email for PS NOW, but was not able to play my PS4 because got hectic from work and home. So now, I am trying to locate that email to log in...cant find it. I guess I deleted it accidentally. Is there a way I can have the Beta version of PS Now?

Agreed, I'd have rather gotten this for PS4 - this was the 'gamers console' afterall. Better yet, make both services worth it via different incentives and exclusives and I'd probably double dip and have it for both consoles.

Pretty much how I feel about it.

I downloaded EA Access last night and while it's an interesting idea, I'm just not sure how valuable it's going to be in the long run. 10% discount is decent, but you're not going to get any trade in value. Early access trials could be useful for testing out things before buying them. The games that end up in the vault are going to be somewhat dated. If the current Madden game goes into the Vault after the football season, I'm just not going to be interested in it. I don't know how attractive the vault sports games are going to be. With that said, the non-sports games could be more interesting.

They're both stupid. All 3 are, actually.

                        EAs Access, PSNow and Sony.

                          Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Like I posted on the Xbox One forum, im baffled by what the Sony rep said. EA's Access isnt a "value"??? Really??? Seriously??? That Sony rep should be fired. $30 a year is actually very cheap in my opinion and a good deal for Microsoft.

Sony's banking on PS Now which I personally think is going to flop badly because few people are going to pay money to "rent" older games when they can either A) buy them cheaper at GameStop or on ebay or B) already own the games for those consoles because they're collectors and never sell, trade or trash anything.

Sony should have been looking at it this way too - if EA's Access does good, other third party companies like Ubisoft, Capcom, Konami, etc. will eventually do the same which in turn will kill off PS Now. Granted, it would most likely just be PS4/Xbox One games as opposed to games on past consoles but at the same time, buying a PS4, I have no interest in playing PSone and PS2 games whatsoever. Time is done and if I wanted to play those games, I would just buy a slim PS2 and that's it.

To me, Sony is screwing up now like Microsoft did a year ago. Seriously, do they take turns or something?

Does anyone have the full list of the 100 games and rental prices? Also, what is DLNA and what is it used for?
