I can see PS Now being a flop and an embarrassment for Sony unless they fix the pricing and introduce a reasonable subscription model. Right now its better to buy a PS3, grab up those old games, plus whatever PS Plus offerings are available. I actually like the Playstation TV because it essentially makes Vita a console, but its a niche market. I just want to play PS1/PS2/PS3 games somehow. For now it seems like the best bet is still to have the actual consoles (or a BC PS3, but good luck finding those).

PlayStation Plus has also been a disappointment thus far as there's been nothing but Indie games every month for PlayStation 4. I don't see this ending until January. Just like with PlayStation Now, third party publishers don't want to put their games on either service because they want sales, not rentals or freebies.
Dude, the PS4 hasn't even been out a year. Outside of Knack and KillZone what other "non-indie" games do you want them to put up? Why would publishers want to give out free games when the PS4 library is limited still? PS Plus memberships were easily attainable last year around launch for $30. We've been getting 2 free games a month. Its easily worth the cost and I'm not going to bitch about it.

The Instant Game program itself is only 2 years old. Don't forget that it wasn't started until the end of PS3's cycle.

Even the PlayStation Store has been a disappointment. Horribly implemented and setup. Also, while this isn't on Sony, EVERY game, retail, PSN or Indie should have a playable demo available so you can try out the game. There's a good amount of PlayStation 4 games that im tempted to buy but I don't want to get burned if they suck.
If you can't figure out if you'll like a game by reading impressions or watching gameplay then I don't really know what to say. I don't get the disappointment in the store. They've had some good deals on games, but I guess if you're biased against "indies" then you wouldn't notice. In fact they have a pretty good promo going on for PLAY 2014. If you were expecting pricing similar to physical retail then you set yourself up for that disappointment.

PS Plus has more than paid for itself for me.

I actually enjoy the fact that most of the free games have been Indie games, because it's doubtful I would have even heard of many of them, much less downloaded and played them.

IMO, the Indie games are more simplistic and "fun" focused, which is a nice change of pace from the AAA titles that are so focused on visuals.

I don't completely disagree, but you ask what they can give away the same week EA started giving away FIFA, Madden, Battlefield and Peggle 2.

Right, but I can see EA not allowing Sony to do that.

PS NOW will/can be a gamechanger. But they have to get the pricing model figured out because the current one is just too expensive. It doesnt make sense to rent these games for these prices when you can buy them cheaper. Set it up like PSN and let me purchase it and own the license to stream it instead of just renting it. I'd pay the PSN prices for some of the games. Either that or a subscription model.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Agree in regards to PS Now. I saw the entire list. It's horrible and what's funny is that I don't think that there's one single EA game or a Sony game that was released after Twisted Metal. To me, Spending $380m on Gaikai could have been spent better elsewhere. What's worse, is that their downloading/streaming/store still runs slow with a lot of lag at times.

I'm not a fan of PlayStation TV because it kills off the Vita in my opinion. Sony is burying their own portable console which makes no sense to me. What Sony should have done was introduce a slim Vita (which they did) but with an HDMI port so you can actually play the Vita games on your HDTV. Second thing Sony should have done was release a PlayStation 4/Vita combo for $500 at the same time PlayStation 4 launched. I personally would be using the remote play as a huge positive and getting both PS4 and Vita in hands of consumers for the same price as Xbox One at the time would have been something I personally would have jumped on. Instead, Sony missed an excellent opportunity to do just that and they're killing off their portable console which quite honestly, they should just cancel it out already if that's how they're going to support it.

If it was me, I would have been focusing on games, games and games for PlayStation 4 and Vita along with remote play. Use all that money towards the second party games. To me, it's too many gimmicks and add-ons/side add-ons. Stick to the basics and fundamentals. PlayStation 4 is a great console because of how it was built. Vita is damn good too. I would have used that to my advantage and focused on the positives as opposed to the negatives.

As for PSone and PS2 games, good luck. I suggest buying a brand new slim PS2 on ebay for $150 and buy a PS3 component cable which can be used on PS2 and there you go. Reason im saying this is because that Jack Bauser guy avoided answering any questions about PSone and PS2 games THREE times in the same interview. I would be shocked if PSone and PS2 games become available any time soon on PS Now.

While I agree and im not expecting any disc based games to be available until January, it's still a disappointment because you already know what you're getting every month. Including August, there have been 14 "free" games and out of the 14 games, the only one I have any interest in was Mercenary Kings which I purchased for $20 since I didnt buy PS4 until June.

I'm not biased against Indies at all. In fact, a good amount of games im waiting for are Indies. Mercenary Kings (already purchased), Secret Ponchos, Helldivers, Pier Solar HD, No Man's Sky, etc. are just a few of them. Reason I would like playable demos is to see if I actually enjoy playing the game. Watching a video or reading what others say isnt going to accomplish that. Take Thief for example. It was on my list. I played the demo. It's now off my list. Take Transistor as another example. Game looks great but im not really a fan of the strategy element but I would like to play a demo to see if I can get into the game. I may actually enjoy it. But im not going to spend $20 on a game that im not 100% sure I want to play.

Also, I dont play online and until the Division, I have no interest in doing so. Don't get me wrong though, I still think it's better than Xbox's Games for Gold but they have the same problems. Only difference is that I like the setup of browsing through the games better and seems to run better. That's where my disappointment is with the PlayStation Store. It's the same as PS3 and needs an upgrade badly in my opinion. Also, I dont like how when you're going through a list of the games, half the screen is cut off. Must admit that I prefer Xbox 360's setup for finding games. It's easier, faster, quicker and simply, better.

As for the sales, obviously, the PS4 games arent going to go on sale any time soon but I would like to see some of the Indie/PSN games go on sale for at least 50% as that would get me to take the chance on a few of them. For $20 (Transistor) or $30 (Oddworld), no way. But I do understand that it's going to be a while before that happens.

Aa it stand now PSnow is not a value at all. I think Sony might be best trying to to just lose as little as possible and adopt a reasonable Gamefly style subscription. I really don't see people spending money as the prices stand now.

I'm not upgrading my HDD until I run out of space, which I doubt will ever happen. Once I beat a game and know I'm not ever going back to it, I delete it off my HDD.

Far as PS Now, I looked at their list last night and there isn't a single game on that list that interest me. So IMO Sony going to need way more better games on that list if they want people to use it.
