Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I can see PS Now being a flop and an embarrassment for Sony unless they fix the pricing and introduce a reasonable subscription model. Right now its better to buy a PS3, grab up those old games, plus whatever PS Plus offerings are available. I actually like the Playstation TV because it essentially makes Vita a console, but its a niche market. I just want to play PS1/PS2/PS3 games somehow. For now it seems like the best bet is still to have the actual consoles (or a BC PS3, but good luck finding those).
Dude, the PS4 hasn't even been out a year. Outside of Knack and KillZone what other "non-indie" games do you want them to put up? Why would publishers want to give out free games when the PS4 library is limited still? PS Plus memberships were easily attainable last year around launch for $30. We've been getting 2 free games a month. Its easily worth the cost and I'm not going to bitch about it.
The Instant Game program itself is only 2 years old. Don't forget that it wasn't started until the end of PS3's cycle.
If you can't figure out if you'll like a game by reading impressions or watching gameplay then I don't really know what to say. I don't get the disappointment in the store. They've had some good deals on games, but I guess if you're biased against "indies" then you wouldn't notice. In fact they have a pretty good promo going on for PLAY 2014. If you were expecting pricing similar to physical retail then you set yourself up for that disappointment.
PS Plus has more than paid for itself for me.

PlayStation Plus has also been a disappointment thus far as there's been nothing but Indie games every month for PlayStation 4. I don't see this ending until January. Just like with PlayStation Now, third party publishers don't want to put their games on either service because they want sales, not rentals or freebies.

Even the PlayStation Store has been a disappointment. Horribly implemented and setup. Also, while this isn't on Sony, EVERY game, retail, PSN or Indie should have a playable demo available so you can try out the game. There's a good amount of PlayStation 4 games that im tempted to buy but I don't want to get burned if they suck.
