I can answer two for you as I own both. Grab a pitchfork and please start demanding MP3/custom audio as neither PS4 or Xbox One offer it currently. As far as online, PS4 has made huge strides over PS3, so I would not consider it as a factor either way this time.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
No, there's no authentication required. I already added the MAC addresses of my computer, iPhone, iPad and PS4 (4 devices are the limit here). The other three things are working fine. My PS4 was connected for close to a week, working fine. There was something that happened a few days back, and my iPhone wouldn't connect to the wi-fi. Don't know if it was maintenance or what, but that could be the problem. Heck, I don't know.
I also get error code NW-31247-7 when I try to look at trophies and my friend list. It says a DNS server cannot be used because it didn't respond within the time limit. Don't know if that helps matters for a potential fix or not.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
There's a strict no-router policy. I had a friend who lived in the same complex last year get a fine for having his own.
Don't know if it's really worth it. I have one here, and I might give it a try to see if my Playstation will work on it. If it does, I guess I can just leave it plugged in when I'm gaming. If I don't have it out in the open and give it a random name, I'm not sure how easy it would be to track back to me. The only time management or someone would have to come into my place would be if something was broken, or whatever.
I'm going to call the provider tomorrow at some point to see what the deal is. If they can't fix it, looks like I'm going to have a chat with the landlord.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I'm just going to post this here because I don't know what kind of activity any PS3 threads get.
My power went out today, and upon coming back again I noticed a blinking red light on my PS3. Tried to turn it on... YLOD. As some may recall, my PS3 originally YLOD'ed last August and I got it fixed mid-January. On top of that, I have a Panamax surge protector (one of them big ol' ones with millions in protective insurance).
So I'm wondering if Sony or Panamax can help me out here with this issue. I don't know if I can "prove" that the first time I tried to turn it on after the power outage it was a YLOD, much less prove that perhaps a power surge caused something. But does anyone here think I have a case for a free repair or something? Better yet, has this happened to anybody before?
Thanks.Last edited by Blzer; 08-05-2014, 01:02 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Alright, so I'm planning to upgrade to a new system in the coming weeks, and I think I'm starting to lean towards getting a PS4 even though I've always been an Xbox guy up to this point, but I have a few questions.
1. Is there a way to transfer files from a computer to the PS4 like you can do with the Xbox? For example, one of my favorite parts about NBA 2K on the 360 was being able to import custom stadium sounds. Is this possible with the PS4?
2. How is online play with the PS4? Is it any worse than I would find with the 360 or Xbox One?
3. How does the Playstation Camera compare to Kinect?
Thanks for the help guys. This is a really difficult decision for me because almost all of my friends are Xbox guys, including my brother and father, though I think I might be able to convince my dad to jump to whatever console I end up choosing, but I feel like the PS4 has a lot of games that I can't play on the One that I would really love.
As far as online play on the PS4 my experience has been better then it was on the 360, as it should. The PS4 has party chat which works just like it did on the 360 minus the drops. All games I've played so far online, Ghosts, Battlefield, Madden, Killzone have all run smooth with no issues.
I don't gave the camera so I can't comment on that.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Any headset options (that won't break the bank) that aren't large over the ear style? I still have my turtle beach x12s from last gen, but they give me a headache way too quickly. The game is ours we'll never foul out. - Jay-Z

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
This is a random question, but if you guys could see one Sony exclusive return to the PS4, what would it be, and why?
I was just reminiscing about the good times I had on MAG. That would definitely take the cake for me. I played the living hell out of that game.

MAG was a lot of fun for a while actually, there were some issues, but all in all it was a good experience. Except for everyone thinking they knew more than everyone else.
So thankful for the mute all button.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I put a ton of time into MAG. Me and a close friend of mine put months into that game when it first was out. A lot of people crap on the game and I do feel that it was a bit ambitious for the time but it was a great overall experience. The game did have an epic feel to it with those 256 player battles but it definitely showed the limits of the ps3 hardware. I think a game like that would fare much better on the current gen hardware since it is more powerful. I went through 2 veteran levels with Valor and on my 3rd veteran switched to Sver before I stopped playing the game.Comment
