Oh I didn't mean to direct it at you really, just saying I hear that a lot in general. I know what you all mean I think when you say that, that you just want a good new game that's a killer title.

However, there are some folks out there who simply just are never happy and I don't get that, we're in a golden age of gaming with lots to be happy about!

Where do I go to mute the camera mic?

I didn't realize it but it's been on and everybody was hearing my kids argue about doing their homework.

Hold onto your PlayStation button on your controller and go to adjust devices. There should be a check box to mute the mic.

Thanks, duh I've seen that screen a hundred times.

Those poor people that had to listen to that...

I'm still working on titles I bought at launch and probably could seriously go 2 more years without a new game and be just fine.

So yeah, maybe it's just me but I don't get that "so unhappy there's nothing out" argument and I hear it from both camps all the time.
Now, the games are finally coming out but for me, between launch and June, there was only one game that I wanted to play (Knack) and while that was a solid 7/10 in my opinion, it was Watch Dogs, Child of Light, Mercenary Kings and The Last Of Us Remastered that got me to purchase a PlayStation 4 this past June so I can understand some gamers not being happy or satisfied with there not being any games to play.

I'm a casual gamer and have my set list of games that im definitely buying and playing through with a few others being on my "50/50 wait and see" list but it's these last three months of 2014 (including Shadow of Mordor) that's giving me just as many games as there's been the previous ten and a half months.

Just like PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U, buying games is all about personal preference so while some may not have been disappointed, there's more gamers that were. Add in the fact that the majority of games released thus far have either been cross-gen ports or remastered/definitive editions and well, I can definitely understand why a lot of gamers have been disappointed.

Until the exclusives and third party games that aren't cross-gen start coming out, this "next-gen" is nothing special thus far but this is just my own personal opinion.

I still am playing the PS3 and the 360. Mostly the PS3. The Show NBA 2k and EA NHL Hockey. I also play Red Dead the Uncharted series TLOU and Sleeping Dogs and GTA. $400 isn't going to change my life one way or the other but I don't plan on upgrading until my 3 favorite sports games are leaps and bounds better than what I am currently playing. From what I can see it hasn't happened yet. Obviously everyone makes their own choice but for me a next gen console isn't a must have yet.

I'm gonna do what EG suggested and pick one and ignore the other. I've pretty much made up my mind already or at least which way I'm leaning I just need to get up the nerve and do it.
totally, I've never owned multiple systems other than a brief generation overlap. I probably game about 4-5 hours a week right now which is about half or less of what it was over a year ago and I don't see that changing for an extremely long time.

Quality - not quantity. I've been enjoying my time with the PS4 and unlike a lot of people have been having a blast with the PS+ offerings, but there hasn't really been any major game to really go nuts for yet.

I'm more inclined to think the PS1/N64 era was the golden age, though, I'm biased to those classic platformers.

I think we had a whole lot more variety in genres during the PS1 era.

                        Where's command and conquer!?

Love me some RTS. XCOM was great on the PS3.

I'm disappointed nobody tried to do a motion-ish controlled RTS similar to how Ender controls the fleet in Ender's Game.

Toss in multiplayer... have your friends taking commands from you as you control the overall strategy (commander mode in the FPS games?) and it could be special if done right.

Something was special about that PS1 era though, quality games, no patches or DLC (good/bad), and while I spent most of that and the next generation in Everquest (never owned a PS2) there were no/few microtransactions on PC. A lot of that (especially patching) was a luxury allowed by the relatively simplicity of the games too though.

I'd also like to see some Casino games. Loved games like Casesars Palace. Craps, roulette, video poker, keno, slots, throw in some digital horse racing...And add an RPG element ala Vegas Stakes with random encounters and chances.
