Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Regular straight Krylon paint, I read that its the best for this (of the canned stuff at least). Don't get the Fusion crap, just good ol regular Krylon, I've learned one HUGE key tip though. If you look real close to the left side of the D-pad you will see a slight crinkle effect on the red paint. I could of sanded this off and reapplied the red and clear coat but decided it was not bad enough for me to go through that. If I was doing this as a business then obviously but just for myself it does not bother me.
This was caused by the clear coat. I had two clear coat types on my shelf and I read the paint and clear coat must work together are you will get the paint pulling up. So I tested each on the controller with a quick blast on one spot. One can worked, the other didn't and caused that issue you see on the Dpad area.
Other tips if you are going to attempt this.
1) Sand both sides with a fine grit sand paper.
2) Wash down the controller with dawn dish soap to remove all oil from hands
3) You want it to take 4 to 5 coats to cover each side so plan on light light sweeping coats. Let it almost completely dry (roughly 10 min) then hit again with another light sweeping coat. Do this until complete coverage.
4) Allow all paint to fully set (at least 24 hours) before applying clear coat. Again apply 4 to 5 coats to really protect the controller.
5) Optional: I didn't do it on this one, but my second controller I will because I can tell now, this would really create a awesome finish. Wet sand (2000 grit) paint once it is fully set before you apply the clear coat. It would create a smooth like glass finish.
My LSU theme controller I'm doing next, wet sanding will be done. All in all this one was the learning template. While its far from perfect it gave me good insight into why certain things should be done.
Note: Painting the touch pad will remove the touch pad function(swiping). It will still operate as a button though. I knew this before and planned on painting this one and leaving the LSU one stock and in working order. Very few games do I use it so I figured it was not critical if I lost it on one controller.Last edited by Phobia; 07-17-2015, 09:04 AM.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Some may have picked up Never Alone earlier this year as part of PS+ Free Monthly Special.
July 28 comes an expansion of the game Foxtales
Foxtales continues the story of Nuna and Fox, this time in a new adventure inspired by the tale of the ‘Two Coastal Brothers’. Featuring three new levels, filled with new environments, puzzles and enemies, Foxtales will also include five new unlockable Cultural Insight videos that include the family of Willie Panik Goodwin, Sr., whose story inspired the game.
We are massive fans of Never Alone and so the news that we are soon to be treated to an expansion for the game gets us pretty excited.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Hinge repair was simple.
First I found correct size metal pin. Then I cut off the plastic hinges from trigger

I then used correct size drill bit to drill out hole for metal pin

Going to cut metal hinge to correct length later, super glue in place so no sliding back and forth. Boom metal hinge good for a long time.

Hi. A friend of mine has a PS4 and his controller has a strange problem. The R2 button for some reason is not responding well.
See, you can press it all the way down, and you get almost no response (in Driveclub, it works like if you're just pressing the R2 gently, so you're stuck with lower speeds, and in MGSV, you have no response at all, unless you press R2 really hard).
I dont know what's causing this. This fix you showed us could fix his controller, or it may be something else?PSN ID/Street Fighter V Fighter ID: razorkaosComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I doubt this would fix your friends problem, more than likely there is something else going on. His only way to find out would be to tear it apart, but only do this if its out of warranty. If its still within the warranty time, just send it to Sony and he will get a new controller.
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, it's out of warranty, so he will need to open the controller.PSN ID/Street Fighter V Fighter ID: razorkaosComment
