Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
They are different. Input lag is caused by post processing, something that TVs tend to do slowly. Monitors have much less image processing and nearly zero lag between image in and image displayed.
Response time is the time that an individual pixel takes to change to something else. This is different than the refresh rate (Hz) in that it can create things like ghosting and blur as the pixels struggle to keep up.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have been using a gaming monitor for years. I also have a BenQ, a 24" BenQ RL2450HT.
I love it, far superior to my 60" LG for playing shooters. In fact the BenQ is the only monitor my PS4 has ever known.
I think one time I decided to play some GTAV on my Samsung but only because I wanted to see Los Santos on a large screen.
I've gotten so comfortable playing at my desk on a gaming monitor. I'd say the monitor and the chair are the two most important choices for a great experience.
I'm sure on a couch and a large screen is comfortable though.Comment

We've discussed gaming monitors before in this thread but on tapatalk it's hard to go back and find the conversation.

I'd say investing on a better higher quality monitor also helps in getting a proper calibrated image which is harder to get with cheaper monitors. I bought an Asus gaming monitor last year and returned it because it wouldn't properly calibrate which was a DN panel. I'd say go for an IPS panel which costs a bit more if you're going to game on a monitor. It's gives more accurate colors. I'm kinda big on image quality. I guess that's why I still prefer my Panasonic plasma over any other LED TV I have in the house.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I found a 2.5 internal hard drive at best buy for $85. That would work just fine in the ps4?"Hate my game, hate my swagger, my hunger. Hate that I'm a veteran, a champion. Hate that, hate it with all your heart...

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Finally decided to get a monitor for my gaming as I expressed a few days ago, thanks to all the replies from fellow gamers in this forum for exposing the benefits, pros and cons to using a monitor over a TV and suggested brands.
I decided to go with BenQ RL2460HT, got really good reviews and well priced for me to see if the monitor route is the way I want to go from now on

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I went ahead and bought a new DS4 controller (The red one from gamestop) Saw that they had a deal where you can trade in your old controller and get $30 off the new red controller.
I traded in my black DS4 that came with my launch console since I never used it. I had the white DS4 controller but I think it was on its way out. The left stick seemed like it was becoming less responsive and was acting funny when I would play MLB the Show.
When I would play Arkham Knight, batman would decide to stop moving when pushing up on the left stick and when I would play the Show, my fielder would come in instead of running to the left. Im not sure if the controller is really about to give out or if it is just the games I play, but I saw that deal and decided to get a new controller.Last edited by ckarlic; 07-14-2015, 03:02 PM.PSN: ckarlic

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Bought a 1 TB seagate sata internal hard drive. Swapped it out from the original. Started my ps4 in safe mode. I downloaded the PS4 2.55 update put it on my flash drive the way it's requested to do... PS4>UPDATE>PS4UPDATE.PUP .... When I try to reinstall it, the system is telling me the update can't be used... Where am I going wrong?"Hate my game, hate my swagger, my hunger. Hate that I'm a veteran, a champion. Also are you sure the flash drive is formatted correctly?"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

There are two types of updates. You will need the one that has the system software. It's about 800 mb in size. The firmware only update is the smaller file size. Hope that helps.
For the best PlayStation experience, make sure your PlayStation®4 console system software is always updated to the latest version.
