Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
NY....
Surprised you don't have Wolfenstein: The Old Blood since you own The New Order. Did you not like The New Order? I'm buying The Old Blood on the 21st (disc) and haven't played The New Order yet but I have read that it's a good game as is The Old Blood. Just curious as to why you have The New Order but not The Old Blood.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Is gaming with PS4 and Xbone much better on a monitor like this then most big screen tv's? Been debating getting one for some time now

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I tried it on a monitor, but couldn't get that into it like a 50-60 inch tv. Actually I'm thinking about buy a 100 inch projector screen.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Advantages:
No input lag
Exceptional Crisp Image far and beyond better then big screens can offer.
response time can be as low as 1ms
Those to me are what makes gaming on the monitor far better
My 65 inch beast makes games look fantastic and the immersion factor is of course there
But the small monitor with pixels being that much closer to each other makes the picture look much more defined like it is above 1080p....That is how sharp it looks.. Looks awesome
It depends on what is important to you...The comfort of the big screen and a couch or being close to the monitor and more then likely in a bedroom/game roomComment

I have a 65 inch Curved Samsung top of the line 9000 series that retailed at first for 5K and I prefer playing on a Samsung 27 inch monitor

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'm going to try this route as monitors are fairly inexpensive and worst case I'll just use it for my laptop or something. Any recommendations?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I also counter the second point with the DarbeeVision Darblet (which would probably still be good with a monitor), and I feel bigger screens add more depth and better color variety to the image. Plus, bigger screens might allow you to appreciate the 1080p a little more. In other words, on your screen you might be gaming in 720p and it won't feel much worse than 1080p. I'm one of the people who disagrees with that and can easily see the difference, but many can't and need to justify their resolution with a larger screen size.
Finally, I just need to be farther away from a screen. I don't like being able to see the pixels if I'm too close. Some of those monitors are very crystal clear though and, as you mentioned, the pixels are so tiny and squeezed together that you don't notice them. If I'm getting a monitor though, I'm probably sitting close enough where I can see them.
Just a matter of taste for people, and of course it depends on your room and what you're dealing with. I can go either route, but if I'm already set with one I probably wouldn't be going with the other. If I got to make a brand new choice all over again though, it would be with a bigger plasma. Don't know if I would go projector screen for gaming myself, but I would for movies in a heartbeat.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yea that's how I feel too, I love how it looks on my 65 inch Sharp and with most games the lag is not a big issue but with shooters and racing games the most the difference is pretty big, I can see the blur and at times notice the delay in shooting games plus like sbauer318 said it just seems like too much screen, so I think I'm set and will pick up a monitor and give that a good honest shot, and like I said if it's not much better the monitor will still be put to secondary use so a win win either way really, thanks all for the feedback

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I feel the first and third bullet points are the same thing. I'm sure you're referring to the Hz though, but when it comes to motion I love it on Plasma screens over anything else (OLED doesn't beat it either). I also have to consider this feature as a point of negligibility if it's "good enough" for me. Case in point, I used to game on a 23" Sammy LCD that gave me woes playing on it because of the input lag, and was relieved when I finally got my 59" Sammy Plasma (can't game on my 60" Sammy Plasma, though... terrible lag).

I am just pointing out FACTS about what a gaming monitor bring to the table over a big screen tv
I use to have both the plasmas you have now
The image rentention alone makes a monitor much better...You know you have to baby those plasmas
Nothing beats Plasmas in terms of color accuracy and blacks..>But we are talking about video games not movies
Darbee is not going to make a big screen tv look the same as a monitor which has more pixels in a smaller space which makes the clarity stand out more.
Depth might be better on a big screen but I prefer the clarity to be more eye popping
I ask anybody with a 65 inch tv to plug in their PS4 and then plug it on a samsung or asus monitor and tell me the big screen has sharper clarity...Not going to happen
This is coming from somebody like me who has a high end 4K set and has had top of the line Samsung plasma and top of the line Panasonic Plasma...Awesome tv's but for gaming with no input lag and excellent sharpness there is nothing like a good solid gaming monitor
If I wanted to watch critical viewing of a blu ray movie or a football game...I prefer big screen OLED or Plasma
But gaming...MonitorComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If you are going to be using it just for PS4 and or Xbox One then the 1080P samsung s27E390 or a 1080p Asus VG brand or Ben Q monitors
I tried the Samsung curved monitor which cost 399 and the image quality blew away my 4K set on gaming consolesComment
