Id pay another $35 or so and get a 1.5 or 2TB myself...just don't think the value is there for simply going to 1TB....

Not really. If you own more than a few games they are great. So you don't have to constantly delete and re-download games.

Because of the conversation I checked my PS4 and I would be right up against the 500GB HDD (I have 1.4 TB left of the 1.8something usable). I do tend to delete games when I am done with them though, so they aren't downloading patches and such when I am not going to be playing them again anytime soon.

I found that games you don't touch in a long time but still have installed, they won't download patches for automatically until you start the game up again. It happened to me with dc universe and littlebigplanet recently.

I wouldn't agree with that either. Even if you don't go all digital with games it's still a digital age. Installs from hard copies, screen caps, video clips, patches, dlc, etc.

I larger hdd isn't needed but is a huge convenience.

Late last year, I had Dragon Age: Inquisition, Lords of the Fallen, The Evil Within, Bound by Flame, AC Unity, Far Cry 4 and two PSN/Indie games installed on my hard drive and still had around 200GB of space left. It all depends on how big the games themselves are. For someone like me, 500GB will last for the entire life cycle.

Obviously, if you're a collector or purchase games digitally then you'll probably need a bigger hard drive. Whatever the max size that you can install on the PS4 is what those who are looking to upgrade should buy simply because not much point in buying a 1TB hard drive when in a year or so, you'll have to upgrade to 2TB.

Better off buying the max size now and being set for the entire life cycle. It would save you money and time since you wouldn't have to keep re-installing and downloading everything.

Regardless of which traditional use case you fall under, PS+ makes everyone a digital customer. It's heavily slanted towards indies at this point in the console cycle so they're typically smaller but that will change in time.

Light/space ocd gamers I'm sure can make sure with the 500gb though.

I have exactly 80 games, demos, previews and betas installed on my Xbox One. Between my 2tb external and the 500gb internal I have 1.4tb free, including space taken up by the partitioning, the OS, videos, photos and apps.

What's the point? Would never have the time to play and complete them. I can see downloading games, trying them out and keeping them if they actually interest you.

To each their own but for me personally, I will never need more than 500GB of hard drive space simply because I don't buy disc based games digitally and don't collect/keep games anymore.

For those who do, then yeah, definitely need to upgrade the hard drive.

Waste your time? We don't sit there and wait for them. Download and then get on with life. No time wasted. I'm sure you spend more time typing your posts than i spend downloading my games
