Honestly I'm not surprised. I said this a couple years ago and will say it again, with all the hoopla over "next generation" labeled consoles I think it got lost in the shuffle that the One and PS4 really aren't "THAT" powerful. I have a 4-5 year old custom built PC collecting dust in m garage that smokes either console. We've seen plenty of frame rate/resolution issues on these current gen consoles already.

I think an upgrade is a good idea, as long as there is a trade-up program, that's pretty key

One of the reason why I'm not jumping on the VR bundle currently being sold. If I can get a system that incorporates the PU and just purchase the head gear - That's my route.

No I don't keep it in Rest mode . I turn it all the way off. Also, since I switched the power cord I haven't had an issue since.

Yes, I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm warming up more to digital but I do worry that I no longer have a physical copy down the road. You are at the developers mercy without a physical copy. If they turn off servers you're done. Done.

That is what I mean and about how it takes a long time to download things I just got the show today have yet to have time to play the game but it took like a hour and a half to download the day 1 patch.

I just cannot get excited for a new console 2.5 years into this generation. For me, the only defining game of this gen has been The Witcher 3 and hopefully Uncharted 4 will live up to the series' reputation.

For me the defining moment of next-gen has been, without question, The Division. I have played it about 90 hours so far and still feel like there is a lot more to go. I'm on Xbox One now but keeping my eye out for the PS4 version as well.

As for PS4K, I'm ambivalent about it, but in the end I know I will end up with one.

Just wait until they release "The Witcher 3: Remastered in 4k" and I'm sure you will change your tune.

Pre-Xbox/PS2 - I was strictly a PC gamer(Quake, Wolf 3d, Rise of the Triad, etc).

Xbox/PS2 - Moved into more console gamer due to sport titles leaving PC.

Xbox 360/PS3 - I was 50/50 PC to console but moving toward PC again.

PS4/X1 - I've moved back to PC 80/20 compared to console. Easily the least amount of games I've owned on a console before(5 games maybe since launch).

PS4K - Moving strictly back to PC 100%. I won't own another console after the PS4.

Note to self: do not get a ps5 day one.
But seriously how many people will feel ripped off with this? I could have gotten a 4k tv a year ago, but went with a 50 inch hdtv, because I hate that soap opera effect. I read recently you can turn it off though... Cable tv is still only in 1080i. I'm confused about the hdmi 2.0 that they aren't backwards compatible. So, my theater wouldn't work on them? Since I have a theater, ps4, ps3 and a hd cable box would all be bunk or what?
Anyway, I won't get a 4k just to get a 4k ps4, because of a tv I bought a year ago and a ps4 I got 2 years ago.
Will others who keep the ps4 feel left out? Will they think well my system isn't as good as the new one, so why even get that game?
In my opinion, it is going to be a mistake. Should have saved it for a ps5 and have a big boom for the future era.
If it was an upgraded system to be compatible for the VR which won't be a game changer in my..eyes, and wondering how many incidents that will have, since people are already punching tv's haha, and if it will cause eye problems in the future. Have a 4k blu ray player, and why not, steady 60 frames ( I'm not a frame queen) that would be fine. But what sounds scary is the better graphics part. If it was the same game, but have an illusion of 4k that would be different, but to sound like games in the future will be made for 4k and the normal ps4 games will be less and almost like a downgrade sounds bad.
If the normal ps4 games keep growing and getting better as the cycle goes on and we get the best out of it then It would be ok. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it. Who knows, maybe the rumors are off and it is just a better chip to handle VR and stream and play 4k movies.
My ramble that probably doesn't make sense is over, carry on everyone.
