Exactly which is why I stopped collecting games and wasting money. Figure that the publishers don't care about me and want to give me as little as possible for as much as possible. I do the same to them as I try to get as much as possible while giving as little as possible.

I hope they don't follow Square, take out some of those bells and whistles and lock me in at 60. Just saying "the hardware is more powerful, we'll see how far we can go" is how we end up with so many unoptimized ports on PC. I'll need to see it before I praise them.

Love Kinda funny but they sound like idiots every time they make fun of PC gaming, it's ironic because that's what people do to them from the outside but it's whatever. I don't understand your point about the PC version, I'm talking about the PS4 version.

My mistake in regards to my PC comment. I misread it. I thought you were hoping that the PRO version would be ported to PC or have the same options on PC. And I was thinking that the PC version already came out months ago so how does the PRO version affect it? I gotcha now though.

I understand the kinda funny guys comments and jokes about PC gaming. You have to have everything compatible, drivers, etc. and they make fun of those who would rather waste time going through all of that with the hope of getting the game to run properly as opposed to just inserting the disc and playing the game on consoles.

Gamers need to stop throwing each other under the bus. Sony gamers don't care about Xbox gamers, console gamers don't care about pc gamers and vice versa, you know better games for one is better games for all right? Regardless, it's whatever. Like I said, I don't mind the options just question the decision to go uncapped at 1080P as opposed to a locked 60.

Agreed. As for the uncapped 1080P as opposed to a locked 60FPS....maybe they couldn't get the game at a locked 60FPS. That's always possible. Maybe doing that would have required other sacrifices. I'm just happy that we'll have options for ROTTR on PRO and gives me hope that those options will only get better as time progresses.

What I'm saying is they can always get the game down to 60, they could get it to 120 if they wanted, they'd just have to turn a lot of stuff off. That's what we deal with on PC, they give YOU the settings, and YOU determine how many different graphical buzzwords are on until you hit the framerate you want. When you max something out and get 55 FPS , you just turn something down and it'll go up. They actually had a VSYNC option in the very first Bioshock I think.

One day hopefully settings will just be standard. They're getting closer to being a necessity if too many different iterations of these consoles come out.

Yeah but on PC, especially with MODS, you can pretty much alter the game the way you want it. I don't see that level and extent coming to consoles. Two different platforms. PC says it all right in those two letters - PERSONAL. You set it all up the way YOU want. I don't think that consoles will ever get to that level of options. Besides, in a way, I don't mind a few extra options but I don't want hundreds of different options like a PC. If I wanted that, I would play on PC. Plus, I honestly don't understand what the half the stuff means, does or how it affects the game. A few basic options like resolution and frame rate is good enough for me. Dealing with all this other stuff will just turn me off to the game for the simple reason being, that's not why im a console gamer.

And hopefully, this mid-gen console fad turns out to be just that. Don't want console gaming to be like this because if it turns into PC gaming, I'll just quit current gaming and go back to the past and just plug and play the damn game and not worry about all this other stuff.

Just false information. There aren't "hundreds of graphics options", most games let you mess with 20 tops. It's not terribly difficult, the settings are explained. This is why Kinda Funny pisses me off so much, they help propagate this falsehood that PC gaming is for geniuses or something. You toggle options the same way you decide whether or not you want your Y axis inverted, it's not difficult at all, there are even preset profiles to choose from and programs that set them all up based on your graphics card. But that's a whole other thing.

More options are better.

Not only that, but if you have an Nvidia card with a supported game, it will even give a description if the game doesn't.

Kinda Funny gets Kinda Stupid sometimes with their ramblings. The one guy went on for 30 minutes asking if the PS4 Pro would make the gameplay any better than the current gen games. Obviously, we know the answer, but that's up to the devs. If you think a game is all looks and no substance, don't support the game. He seems like he's bitter about this generations games and is taking it out on the updated console.

Agreed one hundred percent, it was kind of rough watching the conference on their stream, and their post show, as they are clearly (especially Colin) pretty biased and don't seem to want to give it a fair shot (especially Colin).

I understand where Colin and Greg are coming from. They love PlayStation and outside of delays, Sony has pretty much been on target this gen and now, it seems like they're rushing PRO to support 4K which is too soon, they didn't include a 4K Blu Ray Player, etc. and I think it's more that they don't want to see Sony screwing up over and over. Right now, a lot of it all seems unforced and not really necessary.

As for all the PC options and stuff, it's more me just wanting to play the game and not deal with all of that stuff. It's bad enough there's always a day one patch and at times, a huge day one patch. Sometimes, I just want to play the game.

We'll see if/when that ever happens. Right now, I think that it's pretty amazing that they're giving us any options at all. I definitely wasn't expecting that. Also, wouldn't the PRO also need a stronger CPU and more RAM to do some of the options on PC or no?

If I get the various options or the developers do it for me, I just want the games to run better and hope the extra capabilities helps them not just make the games look better as that's a given anyway but hopefully, helps them in other ways which will in turn help us gamers.

I think it is fair to say that Colin would have been anti-Pro no matter what happened at the conference though, he really won't give it a fair shake. This is just my opinion. I think he was the first to report that "most devs aren't happy" about it and seems to have stuck to that narrative since, trying to confirm that report of his over and over. I now you aren't gonna agree with me on this, and that's ok. No need to spin our wheels about it.

I thought for sure that they would boost the RAM or something like that with the Pro, considering how cheap RAM is. The CPU clocks and RAM speed was boosted slightly, but that's it, I think.

Have they released an official blog or anything that details the specs in depth? I remember they said something Cerny would be "coming soon."

Not to get too far off topic with the PS4 Pro stuff, but I had my first frustration with Vue yesterday. Added Redzone, was watching NFLN pregame until noon kickoff, went to switch and was getting a error saying no channels on the guide or not subscription service selected. Last all of 10 minutes, rest of the day (well until I switched over to Cowboys game at 3:25) the service ran great. I was really surprised.


Actually, I had an issue on Saturday during Baylor game, signal kept dropping telling me to reboot if it keeps happening, not sure what that was about.

I got tired of the errors, so I have DirecTV coming on Wednesday.
