Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I'm not even sure if this is a stupid question so I apologize if it is, but is watching Netflix through the smart app on my 4K tv any different than it will be streaming from the pro?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Depends on some audio/video settings, but typically it should not, no. We have a One S on our 4k TV and use the TV apps.Comment

Ok thanks... That's what I thought. I just keep hearing them talk about 4K streaming and I didn't understand why it would be different hahaComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
4K and HDR (which wasn't even available until 2015, I think) weren't as prevalent when the systems first released. Would you rather Sony and Microsoft wait 3-5 more years before updating their system to match up with current technology?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
What does everyone think about paying 400 in 2013 for a console only to have a more powerful version of the same system a few years later? Will you be more hesitant to buy the next generation of consoles at launch knowing there will be a more powerful version at some point?

I don't like it and had I know about it I most likely would have not gotten a ps4 when it first came out and wanted for the PRO. Now because of this when ps5 comes out I may want a few years to make sure we don't get a ps5 pro or something.Comment

Technology is always changing. The PS3 was done. You would seriously rather have more years of navigating around that clunky, slow interface than have the option of buying a Pro? It takes minutes for the PS3 store to load. No thanks.
You weren't going to get a 4k HDR console in 2013 especially since they spend years planning and building.Comment

I would and by Sony could give us full 4k not checkboard or what ever upscale type of thing they are doing with the pro plus pro not able to play 4k blurays is bull.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I personally have no problem updating stuff especially consoles every couple of years, but that's also because I'm a tech head and love new toys. Most people will be fine with the regular ps4, but for me I want the better graphics with HDR so I don't mind.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

I still have a big backlot of games from last gen and even some on wii u and we have never had a mid gen upgrade like this before so there was no way to know it would happen. The fact that just 3 years later you can get a ps4 that is double the power of the regular ps4 for the same price that I had to pay for a ps4 when I first got it sucks and not only could I have gotten a more powerful ps4 for the same price if I had wanted but I then could have gotten some older games for cheaper compared to getting them when they where new for more money. So I would have had a bigger selection of games to pick from and for cheaper and a more powerful system.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
While I understand that but you can already do HDR now with the regular ps4 because they added that and playing games already cost a lot of money. Spending 400 or so ever 5 years and paying 60 for each game and I am not made of money. Having to spend 400 like ever 3 years is to much and to much like PC. I just think it would have been better to want 2-3 years and have a ps5 with full 4k for 400. I am wondering how this gen is going to go now. Last gen lasted like 2 years longer then normal and I remember hearing developers saying that it lasted to long and didn't have enough memory for the systems going forward. So because of that I figured we would be back to the normal 5-6 year gen. Now with this I am not so sure. I mean if Sony where to come out just 2 years after this with a ps5 that may make people really mad but at the same time if they want 3 years for ps5 so 2019 that would give Scorpio 2 years being a much more powerful system then Sony and I don't know if Sony would want to give them a 2 year head start like that.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
While I do like to get new systems because I want to be able to play newer games. With out a ps4 I would have been able to play batman Arkham knight and the Arkham games are one of my favorite video game franchise. With out ps4 I could play the newest ratchet and clank etc. But if you are going to do these mid gen updates then things are going to cost even more money. For example with ps4 I paid 400 to get it right away. Now if I where to get say 150 in trade in value for my ps4 to get a pro that would be 250 to upgrade. Now that 400 has turned to 650 and that doesn't include the fact I am going to have to upgrade my hard drive soon to. How do I know that this mid gen thing is not going to be the new thing going forward? How do I know that when ps5 comes out that we will not get a more powerful ps5 just a few years later for the same price? Plus like I said no 4k bluray player in this either. Considering how much 4k players cost if this could play 4k bluray's then it would be a lot more worth it because then I could get the system for like around 250 or so with trading my old ps4 in and for 250 get a system twice the power and that can also play movies in 4k.Comment
