I really don't want to get the plain black though, I'd like a special edition.

I want it in white. The one S looks so good.

My controller stays plugged in through the USB 99% of the time while playing. Doesn't bother me one bit.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Well it's not like I can take it into another room and use it for something else. It also ends up next to the TV anyway so it wouldn't really matter. Like the remote, the controller ends up next to the console/TV so I have to walk and get it regardless. There is no difference in terms of ease of use. It's exactly the same. The only thing that really matters is if the cord can make it to my seat. If someone steps on it, the controller will disconnect so that's not really a big deal. I have kids and a wife, but it's not like they're constantly walking in front of it when I'm playing. The kids are usually sleeping when I'm playing anyway.

            Regarding the VR stuff...

I think the line should stop at realistic first-person shooters; I'm sure in the minority and maybe everybody disagrees with me but it just worries me greatly. I don't like that a 14 or 15-year old can put on a VR headset and mimic everything about a war (holding/shooting a gun, knifing a guy, etc.) - I feel the line between realism and VR would get dangerously close.

As I said...maybe I'm off and there should be no concern but that's just my opinion.

That may be true, but it doesn't mean I'm wrong for not being bothered by my controller having a cord plugged in.

I see your concern but I actually think the opposite is true. The more people can get the crap scared out of them and see the reality of war (as much as one can see in a game that doesn't threaten death) then the less chance people will ever want to go to war. I myself have recalled a few video game and movie moments where I'm very much glad that I was never able to get into the Navy because I was too fat: the first time I played a realistic WWII shooter and the first time that I watched Saving Private Ryan in the theater both come to mind, for example.

I know people think these games can tend to glorify war but I don't think they do, they glorify heroism and tap into an instinctual instinct that we have to destroy.

Think of it this way, in the cave man days we would have gotten enough killing and destroying from finding our dinner or just trying to stay alive throughout the day but now we don't have those sorts of dangers in general so video games serve to channel those desires in an environmentally and socially acceptable manner.

So yeah we are always going to hear about the occasional weirdo that plays Call of Duty and then goes and kills people to see what its like but the truth is the vast majority of gamers, even children, do not want to be violent or more specifically, kill others, but they do have a desire to act out primal instincts in a game like setting.

Honestly, if Doom and Call of Duty and other more and more realistic video games made people more apt to kill or be violent, as some people believe, we'd be seeing a huge amount more violence instead of violent crimes and murder rates going down as they have continued to do since the 1950's (per FBI statistics)

                    Just my opinion..

Unfortunately, the idea that witnessing violence is cathartic and relieves us of that instinct to destroy has been unfounded by research. It's actually been demonstrated that witnessing violence can (not does, but can) increase violent behavior in the person.

Quite simply, you are wrong. The video game industry has been sued time and time again and no studies that are out there have ever been put forth with that sort of credibility linking art such as games or violent to either music, games or film.

It has always been theory and unfounded and wrongfully held theory at that.

As I said, putting studies aside, games, media and music have become more and more violent and realistic yet violent crimes and murders continues to decrease from 1950 forward to our present.

So cold, hard statistics and reality trump unfounded theories and studies, which are typically based upon people who have an agenda, every single time.

Real violence and video game violence are two different things. A guy's head getting chopped off in a video game is more tolerable than in real life (I will not even look).
