I figured as much because all I read was that Sony did some trickery and blah blah to get it to HDR on ps4 but the Pro version is 10x better with the hdr then vanilla ps4...I noticed it right away..Sucks that resolution is 1440p only as it does not look much better then vanilla ps4 but with the better HDR it is impressive

That is why having a 4K set yields tangible differences over 1080p which is not as tangible

HDR in general looks way better and way brighter on the pro compared to the original ps4. I honestly believe it's the HDMI 1.4 hardware limitation. I noticed this drastic difference while playing NBA2k last night. Even with my back light maxed like rtings recommends for HDR content it looked a little dark on the OG PS4 and not that great. It's perfect on the pro. I believe the pro is using the full color spectrum too for HDR.

I agree and it rivals what the XB S HDR offers which is because they have real HDMI 2.0

I only got to see Uncharted as I had to head to work but left the console downloading all games I own and will stream tonight and show pics

Should I stream on Twitch or YT?

Try NBA2K. I was blown away how good it looked. Extremely sharp and the colors were insane. The game is native 4K which is a huge plus. One thing about the Xbox slim with HDR that I read somewhere that it's only using 8bit color spectrum for HDR while the pro is using 10 bit which is more colors.

I'm really impressed by what a little downsampling can do for 1080p displays. Playing more UC4 and the image just really pops

No. No toggles for rendering modes/options

Just doing the tutorial right now so far . Seems to be 30fps and pretty average to above average visuals so far

I posted on your blog review but ill also say it here

In briefly trying PES 2017 (which has now since gotten its 4k mode patch delayed) the game looked cleaner and crispier and very very much looked like 1440p downsampled on a nvidia card to a 1080p tv.

This can ONLY mean that the PS4 PRO does in fact internally downsample every game(patched or not)from 1440p to a 1080p display

So I think the easiest way to put it is like this?

                      1080p tv receives a 1440p downsampled image
                      4k tv receives a native 1440p image

NO matter if its patched or not.

The only thing is that it doesnt toggle this NORMAL handling of games withina menu that tells you
"Ohh im going to take your 1080p game and downsample itfrom the 1440p realm and have itplay on your 1080p display.

I say this because I've played the pc version of PES 2017 and used the nvidia card to downsample from 1440p. Even though the pc version is not using the full engine of the ps4 and xbox one versions I can still tel lthe edge difference between 1080p pc and 1440p downsampled from pc and the ps4 PRO seems to ahve "that Look" automatically without having to have you see a toggle for it

Are you guys using computer monitors or sitting a few feet away from your tv's? I have 75" 4k tv and I can only tell the difference in resolution if I stand up right in front of it.

I use a 27 inch BenQ PC gaming monitor, I sit at a desk same as I do for my PC.

Forgot to mention: Shadow of Mordor looks GREAT on the Pro. A noticeable upgrade

I doubt it. They said unpatched games don't use the hardware improvements outside of the cpu speed. No way you're getting a native 1440p image from the base hardware without any performance problems
