Whats the best way to transfer data? Ethernet cable from old PS4 or download from backup?

Just got mine and couldn't transfer the data so am just downloading the games again onto the Pro. Only Downloading 2 games tonight just to see how it looks and then will download my other games tomorrow.

I doubt it. They said unpatched games don't use the hardware improvements outside of the cpu speed. No way you're getting a native 1440p image from the base hardware without any performance problems

Do you HAVE a nvidia graphics card to KNOW how supersampling looks like?

Cuz i can tell PES 2017 looks better on PRO without a patch then on reg PS4

and if you start telling me its placebo you might as well not use the sliders on this website

it might not be native 4k BUT it def downsampling SOMETHIN!

I have an nvidia card (980ti) and yes, I know about supersampling. I don't have a Pro. I'm living through every one of you guys at the moment.

PES 2017 looks like hot garbage on PC so that's not even a fair comparison.

I just don't see why, if the system did do this, Sony wouldn't be talking about this all over the place. This would be a game changer but in fact what they've been saying all along is that it's up to the devs to enable and program Pro features and that if they don't, it's only using half the GPU.

If this was something they promised and didn't deliver on, I could totally see a scenario like that. But why undersell and understate what your system can do?

Ugh....just found out my Vizio 4K M series tv does not output HDR. Will this be significant with regards to the Pro I just purchased?

Are you guys using computer monitors or sitting a few feet away from your tv's? I have 75" 4k tv and I can only tell the difference in resolution if I stand up right in front of it.

I sit about 8-9 feet away from my tv and it's very noticeable to me.

If you use Ethernet cables I believe you need two. Unless I misunderstood how my friend explained it to me (or he misexplained it which is possible).

I only used one but I put both consoles on wifi. The one Ethernet cable connects the ps4s

I posted on your blog review but ill also say it here

In briefly trying PES 2017 (which has now since gotten its 4k mode patch delayed) the game looked cleaner and crispier and very very much looked like 1440p downsampled on a nvidia card to a 1080p tv.

This can ONLY mean that the PS4 PRO does in fact internally downsample every game(patched or not)from 1440p to a 1080p display


So I think the easiest way to put it is like this?

1080p tv receives a 1440p downsampled image
4k tv receives a native 1440p image

NO matter if its patched or not.

The only thing is that it doesnt toggle this NORMAL handling of games withina menu that tells you
"Ohh im going to take your 1080p game and downsample itfrom the 1440p realm and have itplay on your 1080p display.


I say this because I've played the pc version of PES 2017 and used the nvidia card to downsample from 1440p. Even though the pc version is not using the full engine of the ps4 and xbox one versions I can still tel lthe edge difference between 1080p pc and 1440p downsampled from pc and the ps4 PRO seems to ahve "that Look" automatically without having to have you see a toggle for it

That is absolutely not true and is false info....Non patched games run exactly the same as it uses the vanilla gpu..SOny has stated this countless times.

If a game is not patched you will not get any differences from what all other ps4 vanilla owners have. If you play on a 4K tv the game already is being upscaled to 4K but now with the Pro and no patch if you have a 4K the console upscales to 4K but that is the console and not the game itself.
