    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Read this earlier today and two things came to mind -

    1) Why on earth did SE show Kingdom Hearts III so very early? Why not wait? I still say 2020 for this game.

    2) I have no interest in FF and still waiting for the "fantasy" to become "final" but I know the classic and revolutionary game that was FFVII. It should NOT be getting a remake in my opinion. Leave the game alone. You can just see the development hell the game is in along with KH3. When the guy who's directing the game doesn't even know that he's the director, there's a huge problem.

Of course, SE doesn't have a clue. They're selling IO Interactive along with Hitman, Eidos is just being killed with their horrible decision making (see Deux Ex: MD), Crystal Dynamics looked horrible due to the ROTTR timed exclusive crap, they shutdown United Front who developed the awesome Sleeping Dogs and then made them work on that horrible Triad Wars game or whatever the hell it was called.

Then you add in their Japanese studios that make FFVIIR and KH3 and it's simply a cluster****. And to think that they were once awesome back in the day.

Jeez.....SquareSoft, Capcom and Konami used to make up the majority of my games back in the day and it's like WTF happened? Just sad. And I don't even care about FFVIIR or KH3. Imagine if I did. SMH.

Ok I understand you now. My bad. You have one PS4 and he is a user on it but he doesn't have a PSN account/login.

Well he can't play any online game on his user name without a PSN account. And as you know, Friday the 13th is a online only game. Just have him play under your name and he will be fine unless he cares about trophies and stuff. Otherwise he will need to create a PSN account.

Exodus of talent. With Square, a lot of the remaining creatives and leads that worked on peoples favorite games left by the end of the PS2-era. Most of the staff that worked on the Xeno-series left to form Monolith Soft, who Nintendo later purchased a majority stake in. Others went to Mobile companies with that whole explosion or started up smaller studios.

Capcom have also had a lot of people leave, and most recently Konami with their restructuring and the Kojima fallout. Throw in the continuous dwindling of the console market in Japan and openly admitting to struggling with HD development. The latter still seems to be a problem with SE's Tetsuya Nomura saying he feels Japan still lacks the HD development staff that Western publishers/developers do.

I feel like others are slowly starting to pick up the baton, but it's never going to be like it was during the PS1-PS2 days.

From what I can tell the newer controllers can be played while hardwired (although I thought the previous versions could anyways but I could be wrong) so hopefully that solves it as I don't have the issue at all during the day only in that one window at night.
To follow up the cable came so I hardwired it last night and played, same timeframe as before when I'd have interference and input lag galore and it was flawless. There must be something interrupting the bluetooth signal from my controller to the PS4 at that time of the night, not sure would it could be but the cord solved it all thankfully.

Glad that fixed it for you. For some reason when I switch controllers the problem is gone so I'm not sure if it's interference with me. Then it just happens again randomly.

For those of you that use a UPS for your PS4, which one do you use? I've had 2 Cyberpower ones crap out on me in the last 2 years. Meaning, when the power cuts off they don't switch over to battery power.

I use an APC Back-UPS PRo 700. No problems with it.

                  Nobody mentioned it, but:

New required firmware out - no changes other than the generic "improves usability" line.

                  Pretty small - 340 MB.

Some of the Sony icons on the dashboard were given a minor facelift too.

Ah okay - wasn't aware of that since I'm still rocking my Persona 5 theme.

There's also something about a new match list view for people who play in tournaments.

My PS4 crashed when I tried to play Injustice 2. I hadn't yet installed the update.

Had to reboot in safe mode. Then I did the update. Working perfect since.

Mine crashed when I went to the PS Store while the update was downloading. I rebooted to the home screen, let it finish doing what it was doing and it's been fine since.
