This whole ps4 pro not being made thing is the first I have heard of such a thing. I am kind of surprised that the pro has not had a price cut yet to and that ps4 slim has not gotten down to 250 yet to but a lot of that is because ps4 is still sailing so good. I would think both slim and pro would get at least a 50 price cut from the 300 and 400 price before a ps5 comes out and I would think pro would get a slim version at some point in time.

I got the slim last Christmas for $200 plus a $50 gift card from Gamestop so the 4 has already gotten a deep price cut.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony probably wants to push limited edition versions of the Pro.
The Spider-Man one is coming. Once that stops, there will be one for the next big game they want to surround the Pro around.
It's not that they stopped making them. It's that they are using hot releases to push them.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yes that is a deep sale but that was around black Friday its standard price is still 300 only 100 less than when it came out and the system is coming up on 5 years and pro is comming up on 2 and no price cuts yet. It really fells like ps4 should drop down to 250-200 for standard price but because of sales it has not.Comment

Not everbody games in a bedroom or is a teenager and a big red console does not look nice in a home theater.
Also Amazon has been out of stock for months. This was before the spider man bundle was announced
something else is going on here and I am feeling that sony is not happy with the pro sales. If they were they would flaunt that...they give numbers for years and now they only do as a whole.
it sucks for a sony buyer with a nice new tv to be stuck with a red console or a weak base ps4 at 1080pComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The solid black console is better than the colorful consoles but you get the game (in this case, Spider Man) for free.
I could see Sony going with bundles. Spider Man. RDR 2 is expected to have a PS4 Pro bundle as well. Price wise, im expecting a sale for both the Slim and Pro come Black Weekend like last year but the consoles are still selling at a high rate at their respective $300 and $400 price tags. I would keep the consoles as is price wise on a permanent basis until next year's E3. With Spider Man and RDR 2, no reason to drop the prices outside of Black Weekend and maybe Christmas sales.
Personally, I have been very happy with my PS4 Pro as Sony's games have taken full advantage of the console. Can't wait for Spider Man, Days Gone, RDR 2, ACO and future 2019 games. Awesome games upcoming.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It is odd that pro is like not in stock in a lot of places and only like bundles. Bundles are great because its like getting a game for free but still odd that there are like no pro with out a game being sold in a lot of places.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
When it comes to ps4, ps4 pro and ps5 I am kind of conflicting not sure if other people fell the same way. I kind of want ps5 next year because I want 4k but at the same time there are still a lot of games for ps4 comming out this year and next and I already have a big backlot of games. I know ps4 pro can play games or at least some games in 4k but I dont like the idea of mid gen upgrades and people talk about dimension returns all the time and if you go from ps4 pro to ps5 than the dimension return is just going to be even greater than if you go from ps4 to ps5 and I dont have the best paying job so I think I am better of waiting for ps5 than getting a ps4 pro and than a few years or so later getting a ps5 to. So I would like to be able to play games in 4k but know it would cost me more and at the same time I still have enough to play for the next year or so that I dont really need a ps5 un till 2020. I am still kind of 50/50 on if I think ps5 will come out next year or 2020.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
While there have been so many rumors about ps4 in 2019 and 2020 and even about like 2021 that I dont know if I can belive any of it but I was thinking 2019 because that would be 6 years after ps4 and 3 years from 4 to pro and 3 from pro to 5. But at the same time because ps4 still has a lot of big games I am thinking it may be 2020. If by early next year the rumors dont start to really pick up than I think it will be 2020.Comment

I truly don't think that there's a chance in hell of PlayStation 5 coming until September 2020 at the earliest. First, Sony has way too many top tier quality exclusives lined up for 2019 so no reason to take the spotlight away from those exclusives. Second, Sony likes to have an "event" in NYC when debuting their next console so for 2019 to happen, Sony would have to hold an event in six months from now and that's simply not happening. Third, the longer Sony waits, the cheaper the chipsets will be for them to buy in bulk.
I bought a PS4 Pro because I bought a 4K HDR TV and was sold on Horizon Zero Dawn. Once you play a game like Horizon in HDR, there's simply no going back at least not for me anyway. The Pro is basically extending the generation before starting next gen. Pre Xbox 360/PS3, the average console life cycle was five years. Now, it's more like seven or eight years.Comment
