Kevin, I know you're a big Halo guy. What did you think of the trailer?

Authorizations will drop off in a variable amount of time, typically 3-4 business days, if it becomes cause for concern just call your bank to help set your expectations. It can be longer/shorter but usually not more than a week. You'll want to let them know that it's not a completed purchase, and ask when the funds/balance will be available again. Even they might only be able to provide a best guess, an authorization is verifying that the funds are available to withdraw, and is typically captured shortly after removing them from your account and completing this transaction. This most often happens when you make a purchase online, you are authorized (your CC company approves the transaction) and then the funds are captured once the goods ship.

As a bank we have no idea, it's dependent on whoever the seller has their merchant services through and it varies.

All that being said, we (my bank) will never hold a customer accountable for it should it cause fees and we can release the hold if the merchant faxes us a release (highly unlikely in this scenario).

Sony has done a **** job of holding their franchises. May be the DRM stance stuff at work.

Remember how this generation was going to completely undermine E3 by giving us all the demos at the exact same time the show was going on so we wouldn't have to rely on news sites for info?

                That worked out really well.

Microsoft reminds me of a Don Draper-Rachel Menken encounter from Season 1 of Mad Men:

Don: Talk out what? This silly idea that people are gonna come to some store they've never been to because it's more expensive?
                        Rachel: It works for Chanel.
                        Don: Menken's is not Chanel.

Microsoft is just giving off that elitist attitude with the DRM, Internet connection and price point. You'll buy this because we say it's cool.

Yes, people will buy the Xbox One, but will they know what they are buying? You know there will be people that buy this thing and have no idea about the restrictions. Yes, you can blame the buyer for not being informed, but also blame Microsoft for alienating a portion of its user base.

I've kept it pretty simple. Been gaming for 29 years. NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, PS3.

Microsoft and Sony just switched positions. No one took Microsoft and the Xbox seriously so they went out and did everything they could to make the 360 a success while Sony assumed that everything would work out great for them after the ps2 dominated. I don't know why Microsoft didn't watch the mistakes Sony made and do things differently but they're following almost the exact same script Sony was in 2005.

It didn't do enough for me to care. Honestly, Halo is my favorite franchise and it just hasn't been the same since Bungie left.

I don't know if I can trust 343 to turn it around and get it multiplayer "right" with Halo 5 or whatever Halo game was shown. It doesn't help that it looks like Sony and Bungie are "in bed" with Destiny and future titles.

                              What did you think?

I'd have to be an idiot to buy anything from Sony again.
Won't get the XBO unless they drop the bs.
Wii U I'd get if it had more than 2 games I was intrested in.
                                So just PC for now.
