Will you keep your old console?
I think one of my largest regrets upon buying the PS3 when it came out was not keeping my PS2. Not because I had any ill feelings toward the PS3. But because there were some games that I felt were executed better on the PS2 than they were on the PS3 and I missed some of my older PS2 games. I know a lot of people over the next few months will be packaging up all of their games and their current system and heading down to Gamestop (or another similar store). I'm curious as to how many of you will be keeping your current console AND buying a new console. I'm pretty sure that this time around, I'll put the PS3 in my bedroom and put the PS4 out in my living room.Tags: None -

We have 2 360's. I will keep my original launch 360 until a few weeks before the PS4 release then dump it. Will wait for a "extra trade value" around that time.Joshua:

Ah, so you're in a pretty good position then. Waiting for a "Extra Trade Value" promotion is a good idea. With that said, I fully expect the value of the PS3 and 360 to drop significantly over the next few months. I take it you're jumping ship?Comment

Re: Will you keep your old console?
Im holding on to both my 360 and PS3. I have allot of money invested in them , and they both provide great fun.
In the next gen of consoles I will only purchase a PS4. XBOX one is not for me at all.
After viewing this video I'm staying away from the XBOX one.

Re: Will you keep your old console?
I plan to keep my PS3. Honestly there are games coming out (like GTAV) that I want to play, and even games I currently own that I still haven't played yet. I imagine there will be some overlap playing the PS3 while I wait to build up my library of PS4 games--plus we don't have a release date yet for the new system.
The trade-in value I would receive just doesn't seem worth it to me; I'd rather keep the system and be able to go back to games I liked when I please. I still have my original Xbox and play that from time-to-time. Plus I like to collect these things haha.Comment

Re: Will you keep your old console?
I only get rid of my consoles if they break or I don't have an emulator for the games. Since the Dreamcast I have kept all of my consoles. Now that we know neither the PS4 or XBOX One will have backwards compatibility it only makes sense to keep your current console.Proud Beta tester for NFL 2K Dreamcast

Re: Will you keep your old console?
Until there's a must play MS eclusive I am PS4 right now. I'll also probably wait for a price drop. Still will have a 360 though.Last edited by Skyboxer; 06-11-2013, 09:06 AM.Joshua:

Re: Will you keep your old console?
In the past, I've always traded in my old console to help defray the cost of the new one.
I don't have a ton of games, but there are some (Hot Shots Golf, WWE All-Stars, BioShock Infinite, Injustice) that I really want to keep. So my plan this time around is to move my PS3 to my bedroom when I eventually get a PS4.Comment

That is what I used to do as well. Now it just gives me more incentive to stretch out my Skyrim adventures and play my MLB The Show RTTS Player throughout his entire career. Plus, it's always nice to have more than one system. In the past, I've always traded in my old console to help defray the cost of the new one.

Re: Will you keep your old console?
I personally think both companies misread backwards compatibility and the stats they were going off of (amount of gamers who played xbox and ps2 on the ps3/360) were outdated and irrelevant to this next generation for a variety of reasons.
Once I am done with Last of Us, I am selling my PS3 because both new systems have a blu-ray player.
I would love to sell my 360, but I really love my Call of Duty and Batman Arkham collection.Comment

Re: Will you keep your old console?
Most definitely. I have a backlog finish, Grand Theft Auto in September, and other 360 games coming that won't be available on PS4.
Even after I finish up those games, I'm thinking about actually holding onto my 360 for good amount of time too. Thinking there will still be some good gaming to be had on there for at least 2 more years.Comment
