It is blasting out a pause command regardless of the state of the device (playing DVR content, live TV). Not sure about compatibility of that particular unit though. For example I'll bark out 'xbox play' to get the UI on my Genie to come up again even though the content is already playing.

Can you try changing your settings on Xbox One from "HDMI (Auto-Detect)" to "HDMI" under Settings->Display & Sound->TV Connection?
What mestevo said. Does your Cox box support pause? We're just sending the pause command. Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
It's a Cisco box, the old one was Motorola. I'll tinker, pause on remote usually pauses live tv or whatever you're watching on DVR, but doesn't do anything when I try it on xbox. Now that I know I'll try again. Can you try changing your settings on Xbox One from "HDMI (Auto-Detect)" to "HDMI" under Settings->Display & Sound->TV Connection?

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
I'm having audio issues on my 5.1 surround. Live TV I'm only getting sound from right front. I have Sony hdmi receiver and Samsung cable box with Cablevision. In games I'm not getting sound from Center speaker. On xb1 have audio set at hdmi 5.1
I have my 360 running through same system and audio 5.1 works fine.Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
Hmmm, doesn't seem to do anything with pause, though the remote pauses tv/dvr when appropriate. Is there anything I could do to try and reload that or no? Not a biggie, just wondering....Can you try changing your settings on Xbox One from "HDMI (Auto-Detect)" to "HDMI" under Settings->Display & Sound->TV Connection?

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
Sorry. Looks like it was am issue with an HDMI splitter. Getting output from all speakers now, except center is extremely low volume, but I suppose I can adjust that with my receiver.Last edited by Pete1210; 01-22-2014, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
right, during games it's really noticeable during commentary in nba2k14 - and foodnetwork when people are talking. apps I can't be sure.
it's not every 10 seconds or anything, more like every 2-5 mintues I get a brief blurry dip.
It's not enough of a problem for me to go nuts trying to fix it, i did do a hard reboot if that helps. In the end it's not a big deal but obviously I'd rather have perfect audio.
Thanks for answering all these questions/suggestions btw - it's been really informative and handy.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
I'm not sure I completely understand. Sometimes pause works using your remote, sometimes it doesn't?
Weird. I've had issues with my Samsung TV before where it decided to do automatic volume leveling...and it was annoying. Do you have something like that you could disable?right, during games it's really noticeable during commentary in nba2k14 - and foodnetwork when people are talking. apps I can't be sure.

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
Pause always works on remote...those pause and other Xbox features don't work ever with voice or controller. Must not be mapped to my cable box correctly I guess?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
Gotcha, so channel change, etc also don't work?
Sorry if you told me already, what's the make, model, and provider of your cable box?
Does Kinect have line of sight to your cable box??The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.Comment

Re: Questions About Live TV on Xbox One?
I'll get the exact info when I'm home. Cable box is below Kinect in entertainment center, but Kinect can turn it on/off and change channel so I think it can see it fine.
Changing channel works, so I can say "Xbox Watch Fox" and it'll type in the numbers to change to the Fox HD channel.
I've just been wondering about the pause aspect, that seems to be off.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
