Darn...still hoping for that "boot to TV" setting

Small thing, but I can't seem to say "Xbox Watch Disney Junior". It always wants to go to Disney. One thing that I noticed is that the Junior channel isn't in HD, while Disney is.

Can you change audio output from TV to game when snapped? Can you have an audio output of the game go through to headphones, while audio output of TV go through to TV?

          Can you try to:
          a) Tune to it using your controller in OneGuide
          b) Add it to your favorites

          Now is it voice activate-able?

          1) Not at the moment, but we know it's a problem.
          2) No, good feature request though.

This was posted in the main Xbox One thread, but I'll share it here since I can answer questions about it.

The Xbox One Media Remote will be coming out on March 4th for $25 - http://majornelson.com/2014/02/20/th...-media-remote/

This is great if you use your Xbox One for TV or Multimedia and I find myself using it almost exclusively, unless I'm trying to play a game.

To me a remote makes sense at least in my house.

                  1) I have a wife that does not like video games so she does not want to use her voice or a controller to watch TV.

                  2) I have 2 kids that go to sleep around 9pm so voice control is not great at that time.

Oh I understand.... I think a lot of people will grab the remote . For the reasons you mention and because voice commands can be frustrating at times that's why I said bye bye voice commands.

It hasn't gotten rid of voice commands for me at all, and that's not the goal. There are things voice is great at. For instance, "Xbox On", "Xbox Record That", "Xbox show Guide" are all things that may take you a few steps (find controller, navigate menu, press a button, etc) but can be done in 1 second using voice.

However, once you get into a menu and want to change something specific or browse content, many times it takes less effort to press "right, right, right", than to say "More....more....more".

There is some overlap in functionality, which is great, but there's also things that each does to complement each other well.

The remote, combined with a "Go to tv" automatically on turning on would pretty much mother-in-law proof this...less daunting than the controller

I don't like the voice commands. I also don't want another remote control. Since I'm out of HDMI ports (4), I ordered an HDMI Splitter and taking my TV back from Microsoft. lol. Tired of being connected through my Directv receiver.

What can we do to make voice commands more useful for you? What is keeping you from replacing all your remotes with the Xbox One?

I LOVE voice commands....just wish the Xbox One was a little better at recognizing them is all...I'm sure it will improve in time though. I rarely use my remote anymore and turning all my **** on and off just by speaking is some Jetsons stuff I didn't think I'd see in my lifetime..

DVR and just general browsing are all we use the remote for. If we could say "Skip ahead 6" or something that would be amazing, but we keep the remote around to fast forward through commercials too.
