I'll say this, since I got the XO, it's been on ALL the time. This is starting to look like a good move by MS. You may not be playing a game, but that thing is STILL on and is an integral part of your entertainment time now. My girls have ALL interacted with the XO, whereas my youngest - the tomboy gamer - is the only one that has seen the PS4 on. That says a lot. As a gamer, I was a little put off by MS's directive. But, I have to say, I think it may have been a smart move for them...
Boilerbuzz you are so right in this. I really felt it was gonna be gimmicky coming out but boy was I wrong about it. This thing is a part of my life/entertainment life that is

Sony hit a HR with there system but Microsoft hit a Grand Slam for what I ended up looking for in a console. The potential for what this system can do seems endless.

I will snag another PS4 at some point. Of you can afford it both systems are a must especially if you like Baseball

Yeah I dumped it for a $500 GameStop card on Xbone Launch. I'm man enough to admit that I miss it but it still would not have been my go to system

What's killing me is BF4. That one game alone is what I miss most on PS4. It just plays better on that console IMO. All the other games I feel play/control better on Xbone

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

this might have been covered already some but I want to know more about Xbox Live vs PSN on Next Gen..

considering you have to play for PSN now... I'm assuming it's just as good as Xbox Live on the One now? is it or not?... and when I say as good.. I mean in terms of lag and the performance of online gaming and also the interface. for example... I had 360 first before I switched to PS3 which I have currently.. but Xbox live at launch on the 360 was and a still a whole lot better than PSN even today on the PS3. now.. I don't have that much of problem with that because PSN is free... but for next gen since you to pay now.. I'm expecting PSN to be on par or pretty close to Xbox live now.. am I wrong for assuming this?

btw.. I really am enjoying this thread because for me it is kind of helping me decide which console to get. I'm going to get one and only have time for one. I'm not that big of a gamer as I use to be and really both systems will have the games I want. I also do not care if one system has slightly better graphics than the other. to someone like me.. I hardly notice. I also am also pretty much only about online gaming and which console sports games play best. (ie. like EA sports games on the genesis had much better smoother gameplay vs SNES or NHL on the 360 played smoother vs the PS3 bc it was developed mainly off the 360 platform first) I have seen some people that have both systems say they like the control of their multiplatform games better on the One vs the PS4 here. I do not ever play a video game offline these days. So online is really important to me. I play games like bf4, COD, Socom, Fifa, NHl, Madden etc. I also used my PS3 this last year more as a Entertainment system and such for netflix etc than I did for actual gaming so this is why sometimes I think maybe the Xbone is maybe geared more towards me. but at the same time I'm also a big socom guy and H hour might not come out on Xbone or maybe it will.

I have changed my mind on which system I'm getting like 6 times already. lol

bottom line is.. my main concern about PS4 and PSN is the online that you pay for now... I'm expecting since you have to pay now for it to be a ton better than the current PSN on the PS3 and more like Xbox online... alls I really want to know.. is that the case or not?

I don't like pieces like this for a couple of reasons:

            1. When you sit down and actually just PLAY the game, after a while, NONE of those finer details matter as much as the game itself.

            2. When you compare screenshot, yeah. When the games are moving, you don't see it as easily.

Eh. As someone that's just playing, the differences are just not big enough if they're noticeable at all.

This. I hate them for the same reason.

Unless you're sitting down at your TV playing the same freakin game on both consoles on two tv's side by side....you will NEVER notice a difference.

I can say when I did play online on PS4 it was silky smooth playing Madden, same with Killzone/BF4.

Online on Xbone has been Flawless but I think we all expected that

If online was the deal breaker I would say Xbone but again I'm sure you will be fine with the PS4. Others who strictly play online on the PS4 I'm sure can answer for that system better than I can.

Good luck on whatever choice you make. I don't think there is a wrong one

I disagree with this somewhat. Some will notice and I for one can tell. Is it huge? Not really but the difference is there IMO.

Not to start a war Mercurial some guys won't notice as you stated so we are somewhat on the same page.

This thread is about those who have both. More often than not, you'll decide to pick up the multiplatform games for the system it looks best on. I know that's how I was with 360 and PS4.

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

Both consoles look great to me. One of my friends picked up both and they look fantastic. The XOne does stuff the PS4 will never do but the PS4 has games coming that the other console will never have and for me that is the main selling point. I am not buying two consoles this time around.

Same, I don't plan too either, at least not in this first year or two. Last gen lasted 8 years. I think I'll have both at some point.

yeah man.. thanks. Yeah I agree as I don't think I would be disappointed in either and both would be great. I'm pretty sure I will be find with either console I buy and I'm leaning more towards the PS4 simply bc my gfs kids got one for xmas so there is someone i can share games with. also I'm use to playing online PS3 with friends and the looks of the BF4 online here at OS.. it seems to be a lot more popular online with PS4 vs Xbone right now and that is my main game at the moment. any ways it's good to hear about PS4 online playing smooth... now I know BF4 is having problems but that is more BF4 than Sony I believe which is getting fixed by DICE. any ways good thread guys and keep the impressions coming. I almost just bought an Xbone if I could find one just because I'm having trouble getting a PS4 so far.

I think the snapping and all that is quite a bit different...I've had quality Harmony remotes and everything isn't truly just one button away.

PIP doesn't work all the time (especially if you use HDMI for everything, on some tvs).

You can be watching Netflix or Youtube pretty quickly while watching TV rather than having to wait for a different streaming box to pop up...

Not gonna lie, my friends list on Xbone is no where near the activity as the list on PS4. I'm always playing with randoms. I'm somewhat shocked at how many jumped to the other side. I miss you guys. LOL
