That's a privacy settings issue on their end... If they set their uploads to 'public' any PSN player can see them. Otherwise, only your fb friends can see them in your what's new stream. (or whatever your fb sharing settings are set to)

      - seeing what your friends are playing
      - jumping in and playing with them
      - actually watching what there're playing
      - taking/sharing/viewing gameplay clips
      - general/ease of communication with your friends while playing online.
      - performance of games online (talking about multi platforms games)
Yeah, Sony nails most of this out of the gate. The little parts they I wish they did better though I'm not expecting them to suddenly patch and get right. For example streaming is such a big deal on the PS4... why can't I see on my friends list who is streaming and jump right into their stream? Why aren't there notifications when friends start to stream? Their solution isn't completely rolled out, so we'll see what the final product ends up being.

I guess my thing with Sony is they're historically less agile with their OS, and have a bit to prove with me as to if it will evolve or they can address issues that come up over time. MS is a software company, whatever the problem is they'll get to it, just a matter of when and if solutions can compliment the other features of the console.

In the end, both OS's are just complete enough to ship, we'll see what the finish product looks like over the next several months. Either way, we win. Similar feature sets ensure competition, the easy comparisons will make both sides strive to make these great experiences consoles to use.

You make one of the points making me go Xbox One...

Xbox Live when 360 launched vs. now is drastically different. PSN (aside from adding free games from PS+) is pretty similar. PS4 is a upgraded experience, no doubt, but Sony historically doesn't tend to update/change this much.

MS you know will be going crazy adding things and adapting the software because it's something they're focusing on. Again, something a lot of you don't care about because games are important, but worth thinking about.

What they've done though, the PS4 has done very well. It's just not feature complete so we don't know what the full experience will entail with time... and then the bigger question is will they continue to iterate or will just consider it a complete tool like a screwdriver - no need to tweak further because does it's job well enough.

Meanwhile we're already hearing about things like Project Threshold w/ MS. They're in a position with so much software and services to try and capitalize on synergy between then, and even if you don't use anything else we'll get the dividends of a more refined OS over time.

I know what they've done is very well done, Sony doesn't skimp.

They'll add things, just not revolutionary IMO. Again, just my opinion based on Sony's history.

MS releases stuff like NXE and whatnot which shake up and add huge features.

Sony kicks butt in other areas, but software is one where MS has the edge.

Can you not go to your ps4 friends list and whoever is online and playing a game, you can actually watch what they're playing??

I thought I saw that in one of the promo videos?? Or am I confusing that with streaming??

Confusing with streaming. You can see what people are playing, but if you want to watch them play you have to know they're streaming (there's no indication they are) and search for them in a different app.

Other than that, enjoying both systems very much and they have both ran flawlessly for me from day one.
I feel the complete opposite for 2 reasons:

                  1. I was primarily a 360 gamer, so my friends list is MUCH larger and complete than my PSN friends list.

                  2. The snapping of Skype, once it really catches on, is REALLY nice.

Based on reason #1, maybe I'm not seeing features that you are in terms of socializing while gaming on the PS4.

The article just doesn't jive with me though:

                    1. What you said - the PS4 inventory is just about all gone! So, OF COURSE it won't sell that much because there are none available. To me, THIS is the reason behind the number.

                    2. How do you have "too much hype"? What does that even mean? You're not going to buy something because it's popular? Sounds like you polled a 12 year old.

                    3. High game prices?!?! What? The next-gen systems have the same price!

                    4. The XBox One has MORE "exclusive" titles of interest than the PS4 at the moment.

The article that was originally referenced has been torn apart by industry analysts. The methodology they used to come to the conclusion about sales numbers was a joke.

Yep. And I'm STILL SMH at the "lack of must have titles" for the Xbox One in comparison. Pretty much each system has the same major launch titles. The differences:

                          1. Killzone (Meh, in my opinion)
                          2. Knack
                          3. Handful of indie games and other lesser profile download titles.

                          versus

                          1. Ryse (Ehh...)
                          2. Dead Rising 3
                          3. Forza
                          4. Fighter Within
                          5. Killer Instinct
                          6. Couple of Kinect games and other lesser profile download titles.

I mean - quality notwithstanding - if you thought there weren't many launch titles on the XO, then you must of thought there were NONE on the PS4...

I'll just say, flat out - no. Unless you fancy yourself as a game snob that can spot 8x multi-sampling AA versus 4x, then you really won't care. It will come down to your controller now.

I'll say this, since I got the XO, it's been on ALL the time. This is starting to look like a good move by MS. You may not be playing a game, but that thing is STILL on and is an integral part of your entertainment time now. My girls have ALL interacted with the XO, whereas my youngest - the tomboy gamer - is the only one that has seen the PS4 on. That says a lot. As a gamer, I was a little put off by MS's directive. But, I have to say, I think it may have been a smart move for them...
