This is what I'm dreading, I'm hanging on to my PS3 simply to take care of my baseball itch in the spring for at least the next couple years. Fingers crossed it does the job.

I'm so up in the air about this, and I was going to wait until spring but I think my gf bought me a ps4. I see that shape under the tree, it has to be a ps4. It's the system I said I wanted back in the summer, especially after all of Microsoft's screw ups with PR.

Since then I find myself wanting an XBONE - part of that is its integration and that she would actually enjoy it more as well just with it's media options being better than a clunky digital box.

I'm convinced she got me a ps4, but it makes me think if she did that I'll need a seperate 'gaming cave'

I have 2 big concerns with the ps4 reading all of these threads - and they are both huge for me.

1) Responsiveness. I've seen numerous OS members saying on nba2k14 it's a more immediate response from controller input. I would rather that even at the expense of graphics (to a degree)

2) Controller life - I read it's like 6 hours!?!? that's just crazy. I'm happy with the battery life of my 360, and expected that to kind of stay the same and would disappointed if I'm swapping batts all the time.

All this has me leaning xbone now which is crazy - but I'm also not sure I can open her gift and return it, that would be kind of inconsiderate given that she probably had a hard time getting it to begin with.

Another thing is based on launch titles (I think both are VERY weak) I'd be interested in the xbone golf game, 2k14 and maybe dead rising 3. Everything else on either system including multi-platform games look underwhelming. Even BF4, it came out and you don't see "omg this game is amazing" it's more akin to when black ops 2 came out in terms of mood. At least that's how I'm interpreting it.

edit; sorry totally forgot about forza! I'm a forza fan!, but also forgot about pinball on ps4, I have williams game for 360 and love it, so I'd totally grab that.

You can't swap batteries out of the DS4. You simply hook up a mini-USB cord to the controller to the system and it charges that way. It doesn't take long to charge, but I typically have to charge mine every 2 or 3 days.

I am planning on upgrading to the PS4 but am a little disappointed to hear about the short battery life on the controllers. All I want from NG is better graphics and more memory. Why do these gaming companies have to make this crap so complicated adding all this unnecessary garbage?

As far as multi-platform sports games...(Fifa, Madden, Nba 2k) which system did you guys go with and why? I have both systems on the way but haven't purchased any games yet and I can't decide which versions of these sports games to get.

I own all 3 of those games above, bought them all on the PS4. No specific reason though.

Honestly - I feel as if the PS4 is more of a single player game system than the Xbox is, at least for me.

That's not saying you can't play a bunch of people on the PS4... I just feel as if the XB1 is more of a "social" system.

I don't understand how PS4 is any less of a multiplayer platform. What else can you do other than invite multiple friends to a party and play whatever you please?

Like I said, for me that's how I feel. I don't get any notifications when I get a message on PSN, or at least they seem easy to miss. Guys I talk to are usually chatting while playing single player games.

Again, could just be the friends I have. They all want to game on their own with the occasional online game on the PS4. On the XB1, I'm always seeing guys who want to play multiplayer.

Just my impression. Hope it would change, but I know I can't be alone in this feeling.

So we're basing these feelings on just the people on your friends list?

I don't understand the sentiment that the One is more of a multiplayer focused machine when the PS4 can do everything necessary to be deemed that as well. If we're talking about the PS3 and 360, than obviously you're correct. But with the PS4 and One, I just can't agree.

If we want to go off of just our own friends, basically everyone I know got the PS4 for multiplayer, and they are on it every day partying up together.

It's just your friends. A good 90% of my list is constantly playing bf4, cod or killzone.

Bf4stats also shows more ps4 players online than xbox players. And that's all the time. 48k ps4 to 30k xbox one right now.

I guess I just don't see your argument. I don't think it's a fair point for either system since it's completely contextual and your mileage may vary.

It was just a few weeks ago that people on this forum were saying the exact opposite.
