Ouch...sad, this feature sounded so amazing too. Maybe they'll patch it and fix things....Would be stellar if it worked. PS4 in any room essentially.

Depends what you want it for.

It seems like a weird device that is (for now) best utilized for VITA, PSP, PSOne Classics, and streaming services such as PS Now.

        So basically its for nobody.

I was initially interested in the remote play feature because it would allow me to use a DS4 with remote play. Since that feature seems to be worse off than the vita I'm disappointed.

I just wish they'd release a new vita with triggers. Hell I could even live with the new model having dumb proprietary memory cards and not SD. Just give me triggers for remote play.

What are you guys using remote play for?

I don't really get the appeal until it allows me to travel.

Playing in their bedrooms or other rooms. If I'd got a PS4 I was going to get a PS TV to stream to the bedroom TV and play my PS4 games...however, doesn't sound like it does a great job of that.

Exactly, so you can game downstairs and upstairs both.

As for me, I'm just going to buy a second PS4..

As of several weeks ago, MLB.TV is now accessible via remote play. There's a reason.

Sony screwed up big time by releasing PlayStation TV. Just a total and complete waste of money. Instead, Sony should have revised the Vita with an HDMI port for $200 and at the very least 720p. Sony should have also released a PS4/Vita bundle for $500 last year while Xbox One was the same price. Instead of these add-ons or side gimmicks, I personally would have been focused on PS4 and Vita. But this is just my own personal opinion.

                            Re: PlayStation TV (PS TV)

I was never interested in playing my Vita games on a bigger screen. I just wanted a box that would stream videos (youtube, Netflix and such) and stream PS4 via remote play. Obviously the device missed the mark on all of my requirements (at least a launch) . Remote play to the Vita is decent for me if not a little laggy at times due to wifi. I thought for sure the PSTV would address some of the latency but it actually seemed more laggy.

Anyway, returned it and got a chromecast for my bedroom instead. I got all the streaming I wanted and have just resigned myself to remote gaming on the Vita. Heck....the latency seems quite acceptable after playing on the PSTV for a while.

Odogg......I am sitting on some Best Buy credits and keep thinking I should just snag a second PS4 for my basement rec room but am having a hard time not feeling "greedy" owning 2 of them. I have been debating getting an Xbone but can't see what I'd be gaining at this point over a second PS4 since I can share all my digital games anyway. Any insight as to why you are snagging a second one?

If you guys are looking for a device to stream just about everything, then you need to get a mx2 midnight android box. I've had mine for about 8 months now and absolutely love it!

I can stream most of what I need from PS3....but thought the PSTV could replace the streaming capabilities and add decent remote play. To be clear....streaming Netflix and YouTube would have been a bonus to the Remote Play feature and help justify the cost. Since it doesn't even stream them at this point and Remote play is a huge disappointment....there is no reason for me to have one.

The box you are referring to looks nice but since I wasn't really looking for those features as the main purpose of the PSTV....it doesn't really fit the bill.

Now....I am still interested in the new Sony Experia tablets that support Remote Play but the PSTV has tempered my expectations now. Anyone else thinking about this?
