Re: Pros and Cons of going to an all-digital game library

the problem i have with being all digital, i find myself buying games at a whim and not playing it. for example, i've purchased Battlefronts, which has yet to drop, i've bought Fallout 4, haven't even had my XB1 on since, and here i sit trying with all i'm worth not to buy Tomb Raider.

Here it is thursday night, i and just absolutely can't wait to go home and play madden cfm tonight.

Yeah, that way you have to go disc based if you don't play a ton.

I got Fallout digital cause I want to own that forever. Other games I don't replay as much.

I've gotten better at not buying full priced console games on a whim and satisfy that impulse on PC where I can request a refund lol.

I don't know about all sports titles, but best buy does the deal every year for Madden: trade in last year's Madden and get $30 towards the new one. With gcu, it literally costs me like 20 a year to get the new version.

I can understand going digital on the rest though. You get like 5-10 in credit maybe on games that are like a year old. The convenience is just worth it. Now if gcu worked on digital download cards... That would be amazing!

Even if you don't trade in games or if you wait until they aren't worth much, it's still better than going digita for mel. I still save $12 on retail plus $10 back if I preorder. Saving $22 is worth it.

Since we have 2 Xbox ones in the house I've been thinking of going digital. I love the fact that I can buy the game once and essentially have 2 copies of the game as my son can play it on his Xbox while I play the same title on my Xbox. We had a great time this weekend teaming up on borderlands 2 in different rooms of the house.

The only thing holding me back is how much cheaper the physical discs are, but as I mentioned buying the digital copies is like buying 2 of the same game.

My main reason for going digital as well. I have 2 PS4's in my house (one for my son and one for me) and we've been having a blast playing games together such as Rainbow 6 and GTA V. I like the fact that we only need to buy the game once if we both want to play together.

I could never get this to work on our ps4's, for some reason it would log one of us out when we tried playing the same game. On Xbox one it works without a hitch though.

Re: Pros and Cons of going to an all-digital game library

I don't know how or when it happened but I really regret getting rid of my older games on old consoles. I found a couple of N64 cartridges a few months back and wish I had the others. Regret selling them.

So with that, I'm disc only. No plans to sell any of them off so disc is best for that and I have no idea what the future will hold for digital games and if I want to play something again in 15 years time.

That is odd. The way I do it is that my account is primary on his PS4 and is activated on it as well. I log into my PS4 as myself. I do not have any PSN account activated on my PS4 in my office. The only time I get logged off is if he wants to browse my library to get a game on his PS4 from my account and I am signed into my PS4. Not sure if it makes a difference, but he has his own PS+ account.

We have both played Rainbow 6 Seige and GTA V together at the same time.

Does the fact Amazon Prime members now receive $12 off any new preorders on games change your opinions on digital?

I went all digital for most titles this fall/winter, but now may go back to Amazon disk with this offer.

Nope because it's pretty much the same as GCU but worse.

No because I already had this deal with Best Buy, plus the whole trade in thing and $10 off most games when I preorder through Best Buy.

EDIT: And GCU is for any new games, the Amazon deal expires after the game has been out for two weeks.
