Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I'm thinking of getting another monitor again. Not caring so much for HDR as Monitors produce some great colors as it is

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Yep Chase, you're right.
I have it, Rez, has it, SBauer has it, Flight now too and you eventually. You have been reading this thread right?

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I made the decision mostly on the testimony from yourself and Rez when we have discussed it numerous times.. I've barely read this thread at all.
I guess I just stated something that was old news, eh ?Comment

Honestly didn't think you were going that route, very cool.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
The stand on the 69 model is night and day vs the 68 when it comes to sturdiness. Monitor doesn't move. So glad I went with the newer model.
Curious Boltman what type of settings are you using? Been trying to find some general settings online but with no success.

SBauer has his set to FPS 1 I believe. I honestly forget what I have mine set to. I'll have to check it out. In fact there's a few of us with this monitor now so maybe we should dig into the settings a bit more.Last edited by Boltman; 04-17-2017, 05:58 PM.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Well after spending a week using my new monitor I'm for the most part happy. Not going to say that I'm overjoyed because I thought I wouldn't miss playing in HDR on my Samsung curve because I do. It's just not the same. The Show 17 is lag-less and GRW is also crisp when shooting but I'm starting to miss the graphics side of things.
Love the convenience of sitting at my new CPU desk and being able to turn to the left to look at my 65" tv to watch whatever game is on so it's not all bad. Gonna give it some more time and hopefully the graphics whore in me subsides.

Once you experience HDR it's hard to go non-HDR at least for me. Tried playing HZD and it's just not the same and to be honest it's not even close. Had to just stop playing.
I will say I liked the way Ghost Recon looked but MEA looked just ok. 2K looked pretty good. End result is the games just don't look as good using my 4K non-HDR Monitor vs my HDR Samsung tv. Not sure if the $500 plus tax price tag is worth it and should I just wait it out for the HDR monitors to start being released.

I was gaming on my Sony XBR43X800D tv for a few months but brought back my Asus m279h (1080p IPS monitor) that I bought a little over a year ago into my office again and am happy with it. I have a PS4 Pro but I am enjoying playing the Show on the Asus monitor right now more than I was on my Sony TV.
I am considering getting the ASUS 4k/HDR monitor when it drops. I definitely enjoy gaming on a monitor as opposed to gaming on a tv.PSN: ckarlic

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I'll eventually buy an HDR monitor. This is a good looking one so far.
